• Role Overview

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Engineer in the Quality Engineering team, the incumbent will play is significant role in handling complex automation and functional testing efforts for medium-sized projects.This position will involve conducting functional and automated testing of software applications, understanding requirements, designing test cases, executing tests, and collaborating with development teams to ensure high-quality deliverables. The Senior Engineer will work closely with Leads to contribute to the overall testing strategy and process improvement.

• Handle complex testing challenges while conducting both functional and automated testing.
• Analyze intricate software requirements and design test cases based on acceptance criteria.
• Execute manual and automated test suites to identify defects and ensure software quality.
• Perform multiple cycles of application testing until all requirements are fully met, and provide quality certification along with specific evidence.
• Collaborate with development teams to conduct thorough quality checks on application changes, ensuring adherence to testing standards and best practices.
• Coordinate with various downstream and upstream application teams to validate the implemented changes across different application workflows.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) teams during final business-centric validations to ensure successful user acceptance of changes.
• Conduct pilot testing and optimize new applications or changes being made to existing applications.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to enhance software quality.
• Engage in the creation of test plans and discussions about test strategies.

Work with leads and Associate Vice Presidents (AVPs) to improve testing processes and methodologies

Skills and Qualifications:

• 4 to 10 years of experience in automation and functional testing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in programming languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, C#, and Python.
• Knowledgeable about testing methodologies and automation tools.
• Property & Casualty insurance domain experience will be an added advantage / secondary skill set.
• Advanced proficiency in test case design and execution.
• Strong programming skills for test automation.
• Extensive knowledge of testing tools including Playwright, Selenium, APIs, LoadRunner, JMeter, JIRA, SynapseRT (aka TestRay), SQL, and Service Virtualization.
• Nice to have knowledge on tools AppDynamics and Application Insights.
• Thorough understanding of CI/CD pipelines and their integration with testing processes.
• Experience in applying AI-driven approaches to enhance Quality Engineering practices by accelerating automation development, reducing manual effort, improving test coverage, and supporting smarter test design and maintenance.
