Chubb launched its third Engineering Center in Thessaloniki in 2022. Our rapidly expanding new Chubb Engineering Center in Greece (CECG) is integrated with the Engineering Centers in India and Mexico to support our global technology needs and digital business transformation, as well as the company's operations in the Europe - Middle East - Africa region operating in 27 countries.

Currently, we are seeking an experienced Production Engineer in AI, Data, Analytics with strong Azure cloud expertise to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining Python-based API solutions on Azure cloud infrastructure, with a focus on containerized deployments using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building scalable APIs, managing CI/CD pipelines, and providing proactive production support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust RESTful APIs using FastAPI or Flask frameworks, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Deploy and manage API applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) with containerization using Docker
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment of API applications
  • Work extensively within the Azure cloud environment, leveraging services such as Azure Container Registry, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, and other relevant services
  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and performance tuning across relational databases
  • Provide proactive production support for deployed applications, including real-time monitoring, incident response, and performance optimization
  • Debug and troubleshoot complex application issues efficiently, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
  • Monitor application health, performance metrics, and logs; take preventive actions to avoid potential issues
  • Implement and manage change requests, enhancements, and bug fixes in production environments
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on deployment status, issues, and resolutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including DevOps, infrastructure, and development teams to ensure seamless deployments
  • Document technical specifications, API endpoints, deployment procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Participate in code reviews, promoting best practices in API development and deployment
  • Work in an Agile environment using JIRA/Azure DevOps for sprint planning, task tracking, and project management

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 1-3 years of hands-on experience in Python development with focus on API development
  • Expertise in API development frameworks, particularly FastAPI and/or Flask
  • Experience in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and container orchestration
  • Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization of applications
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or similar tools
  • Deep understanding of Azure Cloud platform and services (Azure Container Registry, Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Key Vault, etc.)
  • Proficiency in SQL with experience working with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills with ability to troubleshoot complex production issues quickly
  • Strong production support experience with proven ability to handle incidents and resolve issues proactively
  • Proactive communication skills with ability to keep stakeholders informed and engaged
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching strategies
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, microservices architecture, and RESTful API design patterns
  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile environments and proficiency with JIRA
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Azure API Management service
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage multiple priorities effectively
