In this role, you will:
DB2LUW
Support logical and physical database creation as well as database object creation
Perform Db2LUW version upgrades and patching on the Db engine
Implement more advance features such as data encryption for data inflight and at rest

Provide on-call DBA support
Participate in the strategic projects such as o Implementation of high availability features such as HADR as Chubb becomes a highly available environment including granular DR practices.
Conversion of existing backup processes away from TSM to Rubrik
Replatform from AIX to Linux for all DB2LUW databases.
Azure cloud-Cosmos-Mongo
Database Design & Implementation – Design and implement database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB best practices. Create data models, schemas, and database management processes tailored to application needs.
Performance Optimization - Monitor and tune the performance of databases, including queries and indexing strategies. Implement best practices for data partitioning, sharding, and replication to ensure high availability and scalability.
Security & Compliance - Implement security measures to protect sensitive data in compliance with relevant regulations. Monitor access control and audit logs to ensure data security practices are followed.
Backup & Recovery – Establish and manage backup and recovery processes for database environments to ensure data integrity and availability.
Data Migration & Integration - Plan and execute data migration strategies from on-premises databases or other cloud systems to Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB. Integrate databases with existing applications and services, ensuring seamless data flow.
Scripting - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Terraform, Python, Bash, JavaScript (Node.js), Ansible, Puppet, or similar for managing MongoDB deployments for automation tasks.

Educational requirements – college degree in Computer Science or Computer Technology preferred

TSM backup, restore, archive log operations
DB2 Client installation, configuration and cataloging
DB2 Connect support
DB2 EE installation, instance creation, and patching experience
DB2 utilities
Additional skills: o HADR configuration – a plus
Rubrik software experience – a plus
Experience replatforming from AIX to Linux
Implementing TLSD on Db2LUW – a plus
Alerting and monitoring tool experience – Science Logic, Solar-winds-DPA – a plus
Additional DBMS platform experience in Oracle, Informix, DB2 zOS and IMS– a big plus
DB2 zOS experience – a plus

Verbal and written communication skills are key, Various levels of business and technical contact. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively to all levels. Crisp, concise delivery of technical information a must - will be part of the interview process.
Team player – Chubb DBA works as individual DBMS teams and as part of the larger north America team. We will also be called upon to provide DB2LUW SME recommendations and assistance for other Chubb global regions as we evolve into a more global/follow-the-sun organization.
DB2LUW and Azure-Cosmos-MongoDB & Scripting (Ansible, MongoDB Shell, Python, PowerShell, Terraform)
Secondary skills: Oracle, SQL-Server & PostgreSQL
Proven experience with Cosmos DB/MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of HA strategies, including replica sets and sharding
Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers in development and production environments. Performance troubleshooting - performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers
Monitor and troubleshoot database issues, including performance bottlenecks, query optimization, and replication problems.
Optimize database performance, including query tuning, indexing, and partitioning strategies.
Ensure high availability through replication, failover, and other redundancy measures
Enforce best practices for database security, including data masking, encryption, and role-based access control
Automate routine database administration tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and ARM templates.
Document database configurations, processes, and best practices, contributing to the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge resources
