Your Role
The primary purpose of this role is to manage the existing Cyber and Technology insurance portfolio and implement a profitable new business strategy for technology and Cyber products in Australian and NZ.
Your Responsibilities:
- Achievement of the department premium budget
- Support the development and achievement of Australian business plans for the Technology and Cyber divisions
- Ensure the application of Cyber and Technology Practice Underwriting Standards and philosophy across Australia and New Zealand
- Energise Cyber and Technology through active support of branch and NUC underwriters
- Manage the development of new products and underwriting initiatives in Australia & NZ including legal approval, actuarial support, product design and execution of the product strategy
- Design, facilitate and conduct training programs to perpetuate the knowledge and skills of the Technology and Cyber product areas. Contribute to ongoing authority review and development of the applicable underwriters
- Support and guide the underwriting of all Technology and Cyber programs
- Ensure integrity of the underwriting process by:
- Managing portfolio across the high touch renewal underwriting team, the express renewal underwriting team and the Branch underwriters
- Directing Cyber and Technology portfolio development in Australia and New Zealand
- Monitoring and acting on underwriting issues such as exposure control, rate adequacy, reinsurance requirements
- Developing self-audit schedules as appropriate
- Drive new business, development and prospecting of Cyber and Technology business through the branch underwriters
- Champion new products and initiatives which impact our business results and meet with specialist producers and key clients
- Work with underwriters to identify technical training needs and develop training programs to address these needs
- Research and evaluate current market trends and future potential for Chubb products and where opportunities exist produce a feasibility study which will include, carrying out the necessary research to enable quality products to be brought into the Australian and New Zealand market
- Establish underwriting guidelines and authority levels with regional management team
- Provide regular reports to Head of P&C on management of portfolio growth and profitability
What you’ll bring to the role?
- Complete understanding of Chubb underwriting philosophy, marketing strategy and underwriting appetite and issues for the Technology and Cyber businesses
- Expert in underwriting Technology and Cyber business
- Competent in underwriting with the use of SIR’s deductibles, exclusions, layered programs, pricing and wordings
- Knowledge of systems/reports and how IT applications can be utilised
- Able to effectively impart technical skills by acting as an instructor in internal and external training programs
