The Senior Risk Engineer is responsible for providing technical risk assessments and engineering support to Underwriting and other lines. The role focuses on identifying property and operational risks, evaluating loss prevention measures, and delivering practical risk improvement recommendations to support profitable underwriting decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform on-site and desktop risk assessments for commercial and industrial accounts.
  • Evaluate fire protection systems, business continuity, natural catastrophe exposures, and operational risks.
  • Prepare engineering reports and loss prevention recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to Underwriting during risk selection, pricing, and portfolio management.
  • Engage directly with brokers and clients to discuss risk quality and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Support internal projects, technical training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Promote engineering best practices and maintain high standards of technical quality and customer service.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Risk Engineering, Property Loss Prevention, Fire Protection, Industrial Operations, or a related technical field.
  • Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial processes and property risk assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards and fire protection systems is preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders, brokers, and clients.
  • Ability to conduct site visits and travel as required.
  • Intermediate to advanced English proficiency is preferred.
