Citibank, N.A. seeks an Engineer Senior Analyst for its Irving, TX location.
Duties: Provide technical and business support for users of internal applications. Provide quick resolutions to application issues, and drive stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements to help the business succeed. Monitor logs for failures through tools including Splunk and AppD. Schedule meetings and service improvement plans. Troubleshoot open incidents and severity outages to cater to users’ needs. Coordinate the transition from existing Dell Private cloud setup to Open shift containers, which will lead to a public cloud that has more support in resolving issues, high-scalability, flexibility, reduced complexity, and flexible pricing. Drive daily calls with development and other production management teams to drive transition into open shift. Assess, establish, and drive any risks in those migrations. Represent team across Citi Retail Services and Cards, and educate the team with the expectations, monitoring, and next steps. Introduce resiliency engineering into the ecosystem including Chaos Monkey, Gremlin plus SLOs, Error Budget, and actionable alerts including auto scaling and self-healing to improve the overall quality of service. Implement chaos engineering concepts including component failover to assess the resiliency of the software applications that can boost business demand by producing less failure-prone software. Establish Service Level Indicators, Service Level Objectives, and Error Budgets for critical business transactions. Introduce self-repairing capabilities to instances when high computer occurs for faster remediation, as well as failover automation versus manual for Citi’s one touch COB initiative. A telecommuting/hybrid work schedule may be permitted within a commutable distance from the worksite in accordance with Citi policies and protocols.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related IT occupation conducting systems analysis within the financial or IT industry. Three (3) years of experience must include: Conducting systems analysis, design, development, integration, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems using Angular, Node.JS, CSS, and HTML; Identifying, developing, and maintaining automation and self-healing scripts technology stacks using scripting modules including Starfleet with Unix Shell and Python Scripting skillsets; Tuning Mongo database non-SQL queries by re-writing and improving execution plans and using and creating appropriate indexes and caching; Implementing and executing different chaos engineering principles including Gremlin and Chaos Monkey to complete test scenarios including production stress tests to CPU and memory exhaustions to identify vulnerabilities in the eco-systems; Using Site reliability engineering principles to measure the customer experience, introducing service level objectives, and holding the respective development teams accountable on those error budgets; and Utilizing observability tools including Splunk, Grafana, and App Dynamics to help deep dive and analyze production issues and introduce service improvement plans. 40 hrs./wk.
