Balance Sheet Management Senior Analyst


This Senior Analyst (AVP) role is responsible for providing key technical and analytical support to the Cluster Treasurer, Sub-Cluster Treasurers and the Country Treasurers in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) Cluster. The role resides within the Banking & International Treasury organization.

Country and Cluster Treasurers are responsible for the management and oversight of liquidity, balance sheet, capital and interest risk in the countries and the Cluster and to ensure that governance best practices are followed. The Banking & International Treasury team help manage the balance sheet with focus on overall integrity and structure of capital, Interest Rate Risk, Transfer Pricing, deposits and overall liquidity profile of the legal entities in each Cluster.

The role will be based in Budapest; however, it involves a lot of interaction with the MEA countries and International Treasury as well as collaboration with other departments across the organization.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

  • Contributes to the governance of funding, investing and analytics of the balance sheet.

  • Participates in managing liquidity and interest rate risk, the capital/legal entity structure and capital planning.

  • Involved in activities including liquidity, accrual risk oversight and transfer pricing.

  • Supports the ALCO process and ensures governance best practices are adhered to as laid out in policies and standards.

  • Exposure to Citi’s balance sheet and developing understanding of data and technology infrastructure supporting the liquidity reporting process.

The ideal candidate for this position preferably possesses the following qualifications and skills:

  • Fluent English knowledge.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.

  • 5+ years of work experience in Corporate Treasury, Finance or in Banking

  • Understanding of regulatory bank policies, and preferable knowledge of balance sheet, interest rate and liquidity management.

  • Experience in functions connected to ALCO, balance sheet management and transfer pricing is an advantage.

  • Confident use of financial analytical techniques, data management and presentation skills.

  • Proven execution abilities and proficiency at managing multiple deliverables, projects and work streams.

  • Ability to collaborate within a team, in an attentive and organized method.
