Team/Position Overview
This role will drive the Core Accounts product management agenda across 16 markets spanning the Asia South and Japan, Asia North & Australia (JANA) clusters. This includes managing the existing DDA (Demand Deposit Account) product in bank-in-a-box platforms and preparing for a multi-year product and process transformation. The incumbent will own product definition, product development and execution, including building and prioritizing a product backlog and business requirements, associated product and business processes, and risk & controls. This position requires a senior candidate with a strong background in product management and product risk & controls combined with knowledge and/or experience of Services and associated business processes. The role will report directly to the Global Head of Core Accounts and will partner closely with other Services product teams, technology, operations and risk & controls first and second line teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and author product and business requirements / user stories, including sequencing and timing to enhance business processes and controls
- Identify and own business issues and action plans as needed
- Build strong partnerships across various key stakeholders, including Product teams, Technology, Operations and Risk & Controls first and second lines
- Provide thought leadership in resolving critical path problems, both at a global and market level
- Instill an agile culture and mindset across the Product and Technology teams
- Drive ownership and accountability with product partners for their capabilities residing on the legacy core banking infrastructure by reinforcing the value stream model defined in the Core Banking Operating Model
- Lead a high-performing team
- Drive a culture of inclusion, diversity and engineering excellence across the group: a collaborative environment where everyone can bring their authentic self to work, modern engineering practices, adoption of open source and open standards, automation and tooling, collaboration and efficiency
Experience
- 15+ years of experience in product management and development in B2B
- Knowledge of Core Accounts/DDA is a plus
- Experience leading large multi-year technology transformation initiatives, especially focused on legacy transformations
- Strong knowledge of Services products and ability to work at scale
- Deep expertise as a Product leader responsible for complex technology ecosystem in a large organization
- Deep experience establishing and enhancing a Product controls environment
- Experience driving software delivery transformation through Agile practice and process, with a focus of establishing Continuous Delivery culture and process
- Experience in process decomposition, understanding market idiosyncrasies and unwinding complex technology ecosystems is highly desirable
Skills/Qualifications
- Enterprise architecture mind-set with ability to solve a problem in more than one way, so as to make progress towards a desired target state, with continuous evaluation and course correction along the way
- Exceptional communicator who loves working with people, confident communicating at all levels from an individual team to the entire enterprise and is not afraid to challenge status quo
- Well-developed written communication skills (including PowerPoint) and able to effectively use internal collaboration platforms to communicate across the group
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data sets and problem solve with an “art of the possible” mentality
