Job Summary
Citi Chennai is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Identity & Access Automation Engineer to join our team. This role is crucial for enhancing the efficiency and reliability of our Identity & Access Management (IAM) infrastructure through automation. The successful candidate will be instrumental in automating repetitive infrastructure tasks across the lifecycle of enterprise application services, working within a dynamic global environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Automation Development & Implementation:
- Design, develop, and implement automation code for repeated infrastructure tasks, focusing on IAM services.
- Perform unit testing of automation scripts and solutions to ensure quality and reliability.
- Manage deployment of automation solutions across different environments (development, UAT, production).
- Conduct integration testing to ensure seamless operation of automated processes within the existing infrastructure.
Requirements Gathering & Planning:
- Collaborate with partner teams to gather automation requirements and identify opportunities for efficiency gains.
- Work closely with the Automation Lead to plan and schedule automation changes, ensuring alignment with project timelines and business priorities.
SDLC and Version Control:
- Adhere to established Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes throughout the automation development lifecycle.
- Utilize version control systems effectively for managing automation code and configurations.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with global team members, fostering strong collaborative relationships and ensuring effective communication across different time zones.
- Clearly articulate technical concepts and automation benefits to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Operational Support:
- Provide ad-hoc support during out-of-office hours and weekends as required, particularly for production changes which often occur outside standard business hours.
- Participate in a rotational schedule for weekend service health checks, typically once or twice a month.
Job Requirements
Experience:
- 8-10 years of overall Information Technology (IT) experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Jenkins.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes.
- Basic proficiency with UNIX/Linux terminal commands, including performing system diagnostics and restarting services.
- Understanding of middleware technologies such as IHS (IBM HTTP Server) and WASND (WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment).
- Proficiency in version control systems including GIT and Bitbucket.
- Experience with project and task management tools such as JIRA.
- Familiarity with documentation and collaboration platforms like Confluence.
- Experience with Change Management processes using Service Now.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, test, and deploy automation code.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for working with global teams and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.
- Proactive approach to identifying automation opportunities and driving improvements.
- Adaptability and willingness to provide support during non-standard working hours when necessary.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
