Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Application Production Support Engineer to join a dynamic team responsible for supporting a real-time payment platform within a high-availability, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to managing and resolving incidents in critical production systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily production support for real-time global payment applications and associated platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve application and infrastructure issues, participating in incident bridges as necessary
- Perform in-depth technical analysis, root cause investigation, and resolution documentation
- Ensure seamless operations by maintaining and updating runbooks, contingency plans, and support documentation
- Collaborate with internal technology and business teams to resolve incidents and support application releases
- Respond to audit, risk, and compliance-related requests and ensure adherence to governance standards
- Contribute to process improvements by identifying opportunities for automation, monitoring enhancements, and operational efficiencies
- Support application deployments, failover procedures, and patching activities
- Communicate incident status and resolution steps clearly and confidently to stakeholders during bridge calls
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience in a production support or technical operations role
- Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and scripting
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis and issue resolution
- Experience working with monitoring tools (preferably Splunk)
- Solid understanding of incident management, release management, and change control processes
- Demonstrated problem-solving, conflict resolution, and analytical thinking in high-pressure environments
- Experience supporting applications in a regulated, high-availability industry (e.g., finance, payments, healthcare)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in real-time payment systems, including associated workflows and security protocols
- Prior experience working in financial institutions or with payment platforms
- Familiarity with enterprise-grade monitoring and automation tools
