About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a dynamic and innovative environment. This onsite position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects in a laboratory setting, contributing to the development and testing of new technologies and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical testing, design, and engineering, with a passion for improving human health through scientific research.
Pay Range: $34 – $36 per hour (Onsite)
Responsibilities:

Develop and execute mechanical testing and test method development

Train junior staff on instrumentation operation and data analysis/interpretation best practices
-
Collaborate on ideation and prototyping, including fixture development for functional testing
-
Document and analyze test cases, providing comprehensive feedback and recommendations for product or design changes

Operate and interpret data from various testing equipment, such as:
-
Instron
-
XRCT
-
Microscopes
-
Vision Systems
-
-
Develop innovative mechanical tests with validations, ensuring appropriate selection of:
-
Acceptance criteria
-
Sampling plans
-
-
Conduct Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) for finished product performance test methods, especially during tech transfer or lifecycle stages
Education Qualification:
-
B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field is required
Required Skills:
-
M.S. degree or B.S. with 1–3 years of experience in design, engineering, and mechanical testing/method development
-
Strong mechanical testing and troubleshooting abilities
-
Ability to work independently in a laboratory setting
-
Deep understanding of test method development and validation techniques
-
Proficient in mechanical testing, imaging, and measurement tools
-
Experience with 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks), including:
-
Geometric tolerancing
-
Stack-up analysis
-

Familiarity with relevant industry standards:
-
ISO 13485
-
ISO 14971
-
EU MDR
-
Preferred Experience and Skills:
-
Experience with medical device development
-
Understanding of Design Controls (21 CFR 820.30)

Knowledge of additional industry standards and FDA guidance
-
Experience in developing and validating innovative mechanical test protocols
