Title: CloudOps Engineer (Intermediate)

Type: Full-time Permanent
Location: Markham, ON (Hybrid – 1x/week or 2x/month onsite)
Project Scope / Why is this role open:
  • This role has been open and approved since November 2024 and they have not found any qualified candidates.
  • Need for additional support on the CloudOps team (currently 6 people).
  • Aimed at improving team efficiency across patching, access management, cloud monitoring & maintenance.
  • Supporting multiple environments (on-prem & cloud).
What will they accomplish on a high level:

  • Design, build, and manage on-prem & cloud infrastructure.

  • Improve system reliability, security, and performance.

  • Cross-functional collaboration with PMs, devs, analysts, and support teams.

  • Own and execute infra-related projects.

  • Troubleshoot customer-facing issues and continually optimize infrastructure.

Day to Day:

  • Provision/configure/maintain cloud & on-prem infra.

  • Manage security & IAM across Azure and AWS.

  • Monitor systems (Nagios, Spectrum).

  • Handle DNS (Cloudflare, Route 53).

  • Administer core infra services (LDAP, AD, DNS, SMTP).

  • Support data center migrations.

  • Automate using scripts/APIs (e.g., Cloudflare API).

  • Implement/maintain virtualization & storage systems.

  • Align infra strategy with product & business needs.

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing concepts (Azure, AWS, HCI, Nutanix).
  • Experience with infrastructure security (IAM, encryption, policies).
  • Load balancers, firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS hands-on experience.
  • Monitoring tool proficiency (Nagios, Spectrum).
  • Familiar with CI/CD, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Infrastructure automation/scripting with APIs.

Plusses:
  • Experience with virtualization & storage (Dell, NetApp).
  • Windows Server & Active Directory (nice to have).
  • Windows Server certifications (MCSE).
  • Network security (Windows & Cisco).
  • CDN & TLS experience.
  • Data center migration experience.
  • Background in software support.
