System Engineer

Contract: Toronto, Ontario, CA

Day To Day Responsibilities:

  • Design and support technologies to provide efficiency for the infrastructure towers listed below.
  • Handle l 3 escalations and complex technical issues.
  • Participate in numerous projects and deliverables.

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years as a Senior Systems Engineer
  • Experienced in all towers: Cloud, Entra ID, Jira, Change Control, Exchange, Active Directory on prem
specific Technologies:
    1. Ms EntraID (formerly Azure):
      • Proficiency in managing and configuring EntraID services.
        • Design and implement identity and access management solutions.
        • Optimize security policies and access controls.
      • Strong in-depth knowledge and experience in the EntraID App space for Single Sign-On (SSO) using methodologies like SAML, OIDC, and MS Graph.
        • Configure and troubleshoot SSO for various applications.
        • Integrate EntraID with other cloud services.
      • Monitor and audit identity activities.
      • Implement and manage conditional access policies.
      • Subscription license management.
        • Track and manage Azure subscription licenses.
        • Ensure compliance with licensing agreements.
    2. Ms Exchange Online:
      • Expertise in administering and troubleshooting Exchange Online.
        • Design and implement email policies and security measures.
        • Optimize Exchange Online performance and reliability.
      • Manage mailboxes and distribution groups.
      • Configure email policies and spam filters.
      • Implement data loss prevention (DLP) policies.
      • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
      • Monitor and resolve email delivery issues.
      • Perform regular health checks and maintenance.
      • Detailed reporting.
        • Generate detailed reports on email usage and security.
        • Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
    3. Ms Exchange 2019 (On-premise):
      • Strong skills in managing and maintaining on-premise Exchange servers.
        • Perform migrations and upgrades.
        • Design and implement disaster recovery plans.
      • Manage server health and performance.
      • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
      • Monitor server health and performance.
      • Configure and manage email routing and connectors.
      • Implement and manage high availability solutions.
      • Troubleshoot and resolve complex email issues.
      • Advanced reporting.
        • Generate advanced reports on server performance and email usage.
        • Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
    4. Ms EntraID Platform:
      • Experience with various identity management aspects within the Ms EntraID platform.
        • Implement role-based access control (RBAC).
        • Configure and manage multi-factor authentication (MFA) solutions.
      • Manage user lifecycle and provisioning.
      • Integrate SSO with third-party applications.
      • Configure and manage identity protection policies.
      • Detailed directory services reporting.
        • Generate detailed reports on directory services activities.
        • Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
    5. Active Directory:
      • Advanced knowledge of Active Directory administration in a large enterprise environment.
        • Design and implement group policies.
        • Manage domain controllers and replication.
      • Experience with non-production implementation using a child domain model with a separate forest, ensuring no relationship or connectivity to the production infrastructure.
        • Design and implement child domain structures.
        • Ensure isolation and security of non-production environments.
      • Project assistance with Active Directory delegation management and role creation using third-party tools like AD Manager Plus from ManageEngine.
        • Configure delegation settings.
        • Create and manage roles and permissions.
      • Management and support of federation connectors like Directory Sync.
        • Set up and maintain Directory Sync configurations.
        • Troubleshoot synchronization issues.
      • Detailed directory services reporting.
        • Generate detailed reports on Active Directory activities.
        • Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
    6. PowerShell Scripting:
      • Strong scripting skills using PowerShell to develop and deploy changes to the infrastructure at large scale.
        • Automate routine tasks and processes.
        • Develop scripts for system monitoring and reporting.
        • Implement and manage configuration changes.
        • Create and maintain PowerShell modules for automation.
    7. AWS Platforms:
      • Work with AWS teams to integrate applications mainly for identity purposes with EntraID.
        • Collaborate with AWS teams to ensure seamless integration.
        • Implement identity solutions using AWS and EntraID.
    8. M365 and Cloud Infrastructure Management:
      • Administrator understanding with experience in M365.
        • Manage M365 services and applications.
        • Implement security and compliance policies for M365.
      • Experience in cloud infrastructure management.
        • Monitor and optimize cloud resources.
        • Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for cloud services.
        • Configure and manage cloud networking and security settings.
        • Perform regular health checks and maintenance.
      • Advanced reporting.
        • Generate advanced reports on cloud resource usage and performance.
        • Analyze and present data to stakeholders.
    9. Change Control Management:
      • Ability to work with Change Control Managers using Scout.
        • Formally document, submit, and represent changes.
        • Own the changes from inception to completion.
        • Ensure compliance with change control processes and policies.
        • Communicate changes effectively to stakeholders.
    10. JIRA Familiarity:
      • Familiarity with JIRA for tracking progress and documenting in-progress deliverables.
        • Use JIRA to manage and track project tasks.
        • Implement sprint concepts for efficient project management.
        • Document and update progress in JIRA.

Pay rate: $70-$75/hr without Benefits
