Incumbent will support wildland fire and forestry analysis through literature review, coding, and data analysis. Incumbent will work closely with Subject Matter Expert to provide installation-level analysis of wildland fire hazard assessments.

Brief Work Unit Description
CEMML is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University (CSU). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Essential Job Duties (5 maximum)
running existing code,
literature review,
data QAQC and migration,
interpretation of results.
Conditions of Employment
required to travel for training
must be able to report to campus at least 3 days per week

Minimum Qualifications
BS in GIS, Forestry, Rangeland Management, Ecology or related field
minimum of 1 year of professional experience conducting GIS analysis for Natural Resources
Familiarity with wildland fire topics such as fuel loading or habitat treatment
Experience with analyzing climatic and ecological data
Ability to use Python to execute or generate code
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and Esri products such as Dashboard
