Position Summary
The Fish Ecology Laboratory in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology invites applications for a fish research technician (temporary hourly) to assist in field work and study design for a project related to the use of Tiger Muskellunge (sterile Northern Pike and Muskellunge hybrids) as biological control of introduced fish species. Job components may include harmonizing long-term Colorado State data, assisting with field-based experiments, and conducting literature reviews. The technician will work alongside CSU and Colorado Parks and Wildlife researchers and biologists.

Essential Job Duties
- Assist with planning and implementing spring Tiger Muskie stocking
- Begin literature review of similar and relevant research
- Harmonize relevant long-term Colorado State data from Colorado Parks and Wildlife
Conditions of Employment
The position is full-time (40-hrs per week) and temporary (max 6 months).
Supervision
Dr. Zoe Almeida will be the primary supervisor for the position.
Minimum Qualifications
MSc degree or Bachelors degree + 3 years relevant work and post-graduate experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading research projects, including designing research projects and coordinating research teams
- Experience with large datasets
- Skill with quantitative analyses
- Experience working with teams across governmental agencies and academia
