We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Regulatory Policy and Intelligence Specialist to lead our efforts in navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of AI and technology regulations across the UK and EU. This person will be responsible for understanding and monitoring existing and new regulatory requirements and industry trends and anticipating the impact of new regulations on the company. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of regulatory environments in both the UK and EU.

The salary for this position ranges from £90,000 to £105,000, plus bonus and competitive benefits. Pay is based on several factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
This is a hybrid position in London.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, review and analyze proposed AI and technology statutes, regulations, and policies in the UK and EU and assess their impact on the company’s business.
  • Provide regular reports to the UK/EU business lead, Senior Director of Government Affairs and General Counsel on AI and technology policy on a regular basis and recommend company responses.
  • Collaborate across all company departments to ensure a coordinated approach to government affairs and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist the company in developing and coordinating responses to governmental inquiries in the UK and EU.
  • Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, external counsel, business partners, and external stakeholders to determine the direction of future AI and Technology policy in the UK and EU.
  • Establish and maintain a robust infrastructure for communicating with legislators and regulators in the UK and EU.
  • Advocate for the company's interests while fostering positive relationships with policymakers.
  • Identify relevant programs in the UK and EU that may provide incentives for data centres and assist in preparing applications where appropriate.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in government and regulatory affairs, public policy, or related fields, with a strong understanding of regulatory environments in both the UK and EU. A background in and knowledge of technology policy is a significant plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build relationships with internal teams, external partners, and government officials.
  • Ability to anticipate and analyse complex regulatory issues, work with the legal team to propose effective solutions, and communicate these to stakeholders
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree in law, public policy, political science or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
