Position Summary
Seeking a strong lead Engineer at Staff level who can be responsible and accountable for the quality and cohesion of solution architecture components within PBM, RxClaim and SSOE applications, and their conformance to approved CVS Caremark IT standards and alignment with the future state Eligibility systems.
Ensure consistent alignment of technical solutions with the business goals and objectives of the supported unit.
Serve as a senior application architect providing industry leading technical direction and guidance to the RxClaim application development teams to ensure appropriate and cost effective application of CVS Caremark approved technologies.
Ensure appropriate and effective data integration across multiple applications.
Provide solutions and design complex functionality within the RxClaim application (Eligibility area). Lead assigned team programs and mentor junior resources as needed.
Provide subject matter expertise within the RxClaim and SSOE applications.
Define technical solutions and documents within the RxClaim and SSOE applications.
Contribute to defining standards / best practices / guidelines, and aligning solutions to the RxClaim and SSOE application architecture.
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in application development and SDLC, including 5 years of experience leading concurrent technical projects and utilizing Synon/Cool 2E, RPG, CL, and IBM iSeries required including the following:
5+ or more years of experience in full stack Software Development, working with a mix of front and back end technologies in a product oriented, cross functional engineering team including problem solving, data structures, algorithms, patterns, concurrency.
Hands on experience with a number of programming languages such as AS400, Synon, Cobol, Java, and front-end/back-end frameworks, such as Angular or React.
Strong SQL skills and understanding of RDBMS such as SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
A strong understanding of Microservice architecture with experience with distributed systems design, implementation and operation at scale.
Strong experience with version control (Git)
Experience with Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD)
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
Clear and effective communication.
Up to 5% domestic travel for onsite project coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong experience with the following technologies: Python, Pytest, MongoDB, Kafka, API, Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure.
Strong experience with MS SQL Server, Postgres or equivalent relational databases.
Experience with an Application and Performance Monitoring platform. Ex: New Relic.
Familiarity with cloud vendors: Azure, AWS or GCP.
Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with TDD and testing frameworks.
Strong understanding of architecture principles, object-oriented design principles, and database design and implementation
A Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, IT, or closely related STEM field
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Pay Range
The typical pay range for this role is:
$118,450.00 - $236,900.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
