Position Summary
Join Fortune 7 CVS Health as a Staff Software Development Engineer Healthcare data platform. In this role you will design, build, and operate scalable data platforms leveraging MongoDB on AWS as Transactional cache to support Medicare and Commercial Member Healthcare data. This role will focus on architecting and managing high‑volume, secure, and compliant data solutions that enable analytics, reporting, and downstream integration across enterprise healthcare systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in NoSQL data modeling, cloud-native architectures, and healthcare data governance.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and manage MongoDB data platforms on AWS (including deployment, scaling, performance tuning, and resiliency)
  • Model and manage large‑scale Medicare and Commercial Claims datasets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and auditability
  • Develop and maintain data ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines supporting near‑real‑time and batch processing
  • Implement data partitioning, indexing, and query optimization strategies for high‑volume claims and other healthcare data
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and internal data governance standards, including encryption, access controls, and audit logging
  • Partner with architecture, analytics, and application teams to define data access patterns and integration strategies
  • Support analytics, reporting, and downstream consumption by preparing optimized and well‑governed datasets
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and operational runbooks for data platforms and pipelines
  • Contribute to cloud cost optimization, reliability, and platform modernization initiatives


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or data platform development
  • Strong hands‑on experience with Relational and NoSQL databases (schema design, aggregation pipelines, performance tuning)
  • Solid understanding of AWS services relevant to data platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements (HIPAA, CMS)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across technical and non‑technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with hybrid data architectures combining NoSQL (MongoDB) and relational data stores
  • Exposure to data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality tooling
  • Prior experience in large enterprise or regulated environments
  • Mentoring or technical leadership experience within data engineering teams


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (Highschool diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$130,295.00 - $260,590.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
