Business Analyst, Enterprise Asset Management

Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus, Edmonton.
Position Summary
The Enterprise Asset System (EAS) Department manages and supports the university’s enterprise asset management platform to ensure the effective lifecycle management of buildings, infrastructure, and equipment. The department provides system governance, asset data standards, reporting and analytics, and integration with related enterprise systems to enable efficient maintenance operations, capital planning, regulatory compliance, and informed decision-making.
Working in partnership with Facilities Management, Finance, IT, and academic and administrative units, EAS maintains data integrity, delivers user support and training, and drives continuous improvement through process optimization and the adoption of emerging technologies. The department helps maximize asset performance, reduce risk, and support the university’s strategic, financial, and sustainability goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of progressing increasing responsibility in either a systems analyst or business analyst role.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience working with Enterprise Asset Systems as a system analyst or business analyst
- Business Analysis Certification would be an asset (CBAP)
- Previous experience in software development and data warehouse development would be an asset
- Proficiency in gathering, documenting, and managing requirements from stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze and optimize business processes, with a focus on asset management workflows.
- Competence in analyzing data related to asset management, including data modelling and data quality assurance.
- Understanding of asset lifecycle management and industry-specific requirements.
- Effective communication, both written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders at various levels.
- Ability to identify and engage with key stakeholders, including both internal and external departments, faculties, IT professionals, and senior management.
- Ability to manage organizational change associated with EAM system implementations.

- Elicit and document business requirements for system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements.
