As a User Research Lead, you’ll go beyond data to champion the voice of patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers across our business. You’ll deliver meaningful, actionable insights that fuel strategic decisions and accelerate innovation. This role reports to the Director of User Research and can be based remotely (U.S. only) or at our San Diego, CA headquarters.
Where you come in:
- Lead Mixed Methods Research: Design and execute impactful studies using qualitative and quantitative methods—interviews, surveys, A/B testing, behavioral analytics, and more.
- Own the Research Process: Drive all phases of research—from defining objectives and methodologies to recruitment, moderation, analysis, and insight delivery.
- Generate Quantitative Insights: Apply statistical techniques and behavioral data analysis to uncover patterns, validate hypotheses, and guide product decisions.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with Product Management, Design, Marketing, and other research teams to align insights with business goals.
- Integrate Data Sources: Synthesize findings across user research, market research, and analytics to build a holistic view of user needs and product performance.
- Leverage AI Tools: Use platforms like ChatGPT, Copilot, and NLP tools to enhance research design, synthesis, and reporting.
- Advise Strategically: Serve as a trusted partner to senior stakeholders, influencing product roadmaps and go-to-market strategies.
- Elevate Research Practice: Contribute to process improvements, establish best practices, and uphold methodological rigor.
- Manage Vendors: Oversee third-party partners for recruitment and end-to-end research execution as needed.
What makes you successful:
- Deep Research Expertise: 7+ years of hands-on experience leading end-to-end user research, with a strong focus on quantitative methods.
- Analytical Rigor: Skilled in survey design, statistical analysis, and behavioral analytics to uncover meaningful patterns and drive confident decisions.
- Tool Proficiency: Comfortable using platforms like Qualtrics, Tableau, UserTesting, UserZoom, Voxpopme, and Methodify to execute and scale research.
- Data-Driven Storytelling: Adept at transforming complex data into clear, compelling narratives that inspire action and alignment.
- Strategic Influence: A trusted thought partner to product and design teams, with a bias for action and a passion for innovation.
- Cross-Functional Agility: Experienced in managing multiple projects and collaborating across disciplines in fast-paced environments.
- AI-Enhanced Workflows: Familiarity with generative AI tools to streamline research design, synthesis, and reporting is a plus.
- Visual Communication: Proficient in PowerPoint slide design—our primary tool for delivering insights that resonate—and skilled in creating concise video highlights to bring research findings to life.

Experience and Education Requirements:
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree and a minimum of 8 -12 years related experience.
- At this level a Graduate degree may be desirable with 4 years of related experience.
Remote Workplace: Your location will be a home office; you are not required to live within commuting distance of your assigned Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km). If you reside within commuting distance of a Dexcom site (typically 75 miles/120km) a hybrid working environment may be available. Ask about our Flex workplace option.

$128,600.00 - $214,400.00
