The Impact you will have in this role:
The Systems Engineering family is responsible for the entire technical effort to evolve and verify solutions that satisfy client needs. The primary focus is centered on reducing risk and improving the efficiency, performance, stability, security, and quality of all systems and platforms. The Systems Engineering role specializes in the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, implementation, support, and debugging of all middleware, mainframe, and distributed platforms, tools, and systems of the firm.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Supporting a large scale, high risk, multiplex, and pressured environments
- Providing operations support for DTCC applications in all environments production, QA, PSE, DEV and Test.
- Support automation by making recommendations for optimizing and streamlining functions and daily batch cycle
- Coordinate weekend activities for testing and installation of all system and application hardware and software changes
- Responsible for all aspects of batch processing, including systems and application SLA’s.
- Provide support for event monitoring, incident Management and critical alerting.
- Provide support (SLA) to all environments on a shift basis, handling any activity for any environment as required
- Provide support in maintaining the host operating system (IBM Z14, Z15, Z16)
- Provide support to the UNIX/Linux and Windows environments by completing operational scripts.
- Perform IPLs through JES2/MVS and HMC consoles.
- Support batch scheduling activities for AutoSys and Mainframe scheduler
- Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to standard operational procedures and processes
- Contribute to various projects and deliverables. Ensuring permit-to-operate (PTO) guidelines are met.
- Coordinate Mainframe weekly change management activities (system, MQ and CICS)
- Participating in weekend Disaster Recovery Testing
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Proficient with Microsoft Software Product suites (Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word etc.)
- Strong background in large-scale, multi-sysplex environments
- Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Good knowledge of IBM z/OS, z14, z15, z16, JES2, MVS
- Strong knowledge of IPL’s using HMC, BMC
- Strong knowledge of CA1/7/11/CA Scheduler, and JCL
- Strong knowledge of Distributed scheduler Autosys
- Knowledge of VTAM, NETVIEW, TSO/ISPF
- Knowledge of Windows, UNIX & LINUX OS a plus
- Strong knowledge Alert management using Service Now and Splunk dashboards
- Participating in Weekend Disaster Recovery Testing
- Perform level 1 and 2 support for Mainview, MQ & CICS products.
- Major Incident Management
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
