The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the coaching, mentoring and development of team members
  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the team and specific business applications (including technical designs) across multiple locations
  • Manage the software development process
  • Estimate total costs for modules/projects covering both hours and expense
  • Ensure success criteria is met from design through deployment via cost-effectiveness, data integrity and reuse
  • Support total delivery and a risk management mindset by anticipating and solving problems
  • Support an environment to ensure employees understand how their efforts contribute to overall business strategy
  • Collaborate with business partners and Business Architecture to drive innovation and re-imagine capabilities
  • Embed a risk management mindset of resiliency, security, and controls into applications
  • Manage technical processes and designs considering non-functional requirements
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience

Talents Needed for Success:

Specific Skills/Technologies

  • Multiple years application development experience with Enterprise Java
  • Strong knowledge of : REST, JSON, SWAGGER, APIs, Micro-Services, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery, Nodejs
  • Agile/Scrum, Jira, Iterative, Team Development
  • Exposure with CI/CD and DevOps a huge plus
  • Track record of designing and implementing enterprise applications
  • Serverless Compute, Security, Transactional Processing, and High Resiliency.
  • Strong knowledge of Database and Database development tools: MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, (AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, AWS DynamoDB – Preferred)
  • Knowledge of federated authentication and authorization models
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and communication skills
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. About the Team

Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology. The goal of this new department is to partner internally with IT, our business and regulatory divisions and externally with clients, regulators, and fintech vendors, to help build new platforms and business models to advance DTCC’s mission to support the financial markets.
