The Impact you will have in this role:

We are seeking a Senior ServiceNow Engineer with proven expertise in QA automation and hands-on development. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end testing, automation frameworks, and upgrade strategies, while also contributing to configuration, scripting, and integrations across the ServiceNow platform (ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, Event Management, Service Portal, and enterprise integrations). The ideal candidate will bring a balanced background in QA, automation, and development with strong skills in ATF, Selenium, API testing, and JavaScript, bridging quality assurance and engineering delivery to ensure high-performing, scalable ServiceNow solutions.

Primary Responsibilities:

Quality Engineering & Assurance

  • Analyze requirements and ServiceNow specifications to design scalable test cases, data, and scenarios.
  • Plan, execute, and document manual and automated testing across ServiceNow modules, workflows, and integrations.
  • Lead functional, regression, integration, upgrade, and API testing for ITSM, Service Catalog, CSDM, and ITOM.
  • Build and maintain automation frameworks using ATF, Selenium, and related tools.
  • Own defect lifecycle: log, track, resolve, and conduct root cause analysis with preventive measures.
  • Define and execute upgrade/patch test strategies ensuring high coverage and minimal disruption.
  • Promote QA standards, automation adoption, and continuous improvement practices.
Hands-on ServiceNow Development
  • Configure and customize applications, workflows, and integrations using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Client Scripts, Business Rules, and UI Policies.
  • Manage update sets, migration, and development lifecycle activities.
  • Collaborate with architects/developers to ensure testability in designs.
  • Develop and support integrations using REST, SOAP, and Integration Hub.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation for faster, reliable deployments.
Collaboration & Leadership
  • Mentor junior engineers in QA, automation, and ServiceNow configuration standards.
  • Work with analysts, product owners, and developers to align on requirements and work.
  • Collaborating across multiple time zones with global teams.
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies (refinement, planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives).
  • Champion a quality-first attitude across engineering and business partners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years in software testing/development, with 4+ years on ServiceNow platform.
Talents Needed for Success
  • 8+ years of experience in manual and automation testing, with deep knowledge of ServiceNow modules including ITSM, Service Catalog, CSDM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, and Event Management.
  • Strong proficiency in ServiceNow development and scripting, including JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Catalog Scripts, and Integration Hub.
  • Expertise in automation and testing tools, such as ServiceNow ATF, Selenium, Postman, Rest Assured, and SOAP UI.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing for ServiceNow integrations.
  • Skilled in ServiceNow upgrade lifecycle, patch testing, update set migration, and defect management.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps automation.
  • Proficient in test management and defect tracking tools, including JIRA and HP ALM (or equivalent).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risks, enforce QA standards, and recommend improvements.
  • Demonstrable ability to work independently and multi-functionally in fast-paced Agile environments and offshore–onshore delivery models.
  • Preferred certifications: ServiceNow CSA, CAD, CIS (ITSM, Discovery, Event Mgmt.), ITIL v3/v4.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
