The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions.
The Software Development Engineer In Test (SDET) role encompasses automation development and execution, functional, and non-functional testing. The SDET role specializes in the design, development, execution, and maintenance of automated tests to ensure the quality of software products. Partners with team members to understand software requirements and implement automated tests that validate the functionality while considering privacy and security requirements
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Apply different software development and testing methodologies, tools, and technologies
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated tests across the delivery lifecycle
- Maintain traceability from user stories through test cases to automated scripts
- Identify dependencies for environmental and data requirements.
- Develop applications and construct unit test cases that ensure compliance with functional requirements
- Follow design and code standards, contributing to continuous improvement discussions
- Align risk and control processes into day-to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; advances appropriately
- Create and maintain system documentation
- Support senior team members to implement solutions using software delivery guidelines
- Work with peers to mature ways of working, contributing to continuous testing within the software delivery processes and integrate automated test with CI/CD pipeline
- Partner with team members to understand software requirements and design automated tests that validate the functionality
- Collaborate with internal and external teams on development, testing, solving, and improve overall software quality
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; advances appropriately
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Hands On experience with test automation frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc. as well as CI/CD technologies (e.g. Cloudbees, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Cucumber, Git, JUnit, Jira etc.).
- Extensive experience with testing modern scripting language-based components.
- Strong experience with automated testing and test-driven development
- Detailed understanding of regression testing, Smoke & Sanity testing, compatibility testing, system functional testing, user acceptance testing etc.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and techniques, including unit testing, integration testing, and functional testing
- Expert and hands on with backend test automation using Rest Assured/Karate for API testing. JDBC/JPA for database testing (Oracle/ DB2/ Snowflake).
- Develop, maintain, and implement functional and automated test scripts using Java and testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, etc.)
- Skilled in designing, developing, and accomplishing automated test scripts using tools such as Chef InSpec, Jenkins, Ansible, and custom-built frameworks
- Ability to interpret technical designs and specifications and design automated solutions accordingly.
- Knowledge of Databases and SQL preferred.
- Should know the Defect Management using ALM and Agile/Scrum management through JIRA, Defect Triaging, Defect Status Reporting and Tracking
- Familiar with Git for source code management and experienced in setting up Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline test automation workflows Knowledge of automation standard and guidelines including experience with XPath axes and CSS selectors
- Experienced in Agile/Waterfall, onsite/offshore work model and coordination.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. About the Team
The IT SIFMU Delivery Department supports core Clearing and Settlement application delivery for DTC, NSCC and FICC. The department also develops and supports Asset Services, Wealth Management & Insurance Services and Master Reference Data applications.
