The Impact you will have in this role:
We are seeking a Power BI Engineer to create a new and innovative IT Balanced Scorecard that will serve as a critical decision‑making tool for IT leadership. This scorecard will provide clear, trusted, and actionable insight into IT performance, stability, risk, delivery, and strategic outcomes.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing and building the Power BI front end of the IT Balanced Scorecard, transforming data into intuitive, high‑quality dashboards and visualizations.
The scorecard will be powered by a Snowflake database, and you will partner closely with data engineers and stakeholders to ensure accurate, reliable, and well‑governed metrics.
This role will play a key part in establishing Power BI as the authoritative reporting layer for IT performance and governance metrics and will expand over time to support additional dashboards and analytics initiatives across Technology.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for the IT Balanced Scorecard, with a focus on usability, clarity, and executive‑level storytelling
- Translate business and IT performance metrics into effective visual designs, DAX calculations, and Power BI semantic models
- Build and optimize Power BI datasets connected to Snowflake, ensuring performance, scalability, and data accuracy
- Develop and maintain DAX measures and Power Query transformations to support complex metric calculations and data shaping
- Partner with data engineering and Snowflake teams to validate data structures, metric logic, and data quality
- Perform Power BI testing and validation, including reconciliation to source data, regression testing, and defect resolution
- Track work, enhancements, and defects using JIRA, participating in Agile ceremonies and iterative delivery
- Ensure dashboards follow reporting standards, governance requirements, and documentation best practices
- Support ongoing enhancement of IT metrics, KPIs, and balanced scorecard frameworks as business needs evolve
- Provide thought leadership on Power BI best practices, metric design, and data visualization standards across IT
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4+ years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Power BI development and testing, including advanced use of DAX and Power Query
- Experience working with Snowflake as a reporting and analytics data source
- Strong SQL skills for data validation, analysis, and troubleshooting
- Experience using JIRA within Agile delivery models
- Proven experience developing, validating, and reporting on metrics and KPIs, including executive‑level dashboards
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and analytical thinking
- Thought leadership in data visualization, metric design, and continuous improvement of reporting solutions
- Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse technical and business stakeholder groups
