The Impact You Will Have in This Role
The Technology Data Office (TDO) is responsible for improving the quality, consistency, and trustworthiness of technology data across DTCC by providing data governance oversight in a systematic and federated manner.
As a Senior Associate within the Technology Data Office, you will play a critical role in operationalizing DTCC’s Data Governance Policy, Standards, and Procedures across assigned business and functional domains. This role focuses on executing and supporting day‑to‑day data governance and data stewardship activities that strengthen governance, accountability, compliance, and data quality—ensuring enterprise standards are applied consistently.
This position operates in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities and works closely with agile, cross‑functional delivery teams, data stewards, data owners, project managers, and technology partners to reduce data risk and improve Data Office adoption across the enterprise.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
Data Governance & Stewardship Execution
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance standards, guidelines, procedures, job aids, and best practices.
- Actively review and update governance documentation to reflect emerging industry standards and evolving enterprise needs.
- Partner with stakeholders and end users to enforce governance standards or remediate non‑standard data usage.
- Develop and maintain metadata repositories and enterprise data catalogs.
- Provide guidance to projects and delivery teams on data governance principles and requirements.
Data Quality Management & Reporting
- Assist in the identification, documentation, onboarding, tracking, and management of Data Quality Exceptions.
- Coordinate remediation efforts with data owners and data stewards, including evidence collection and validation.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on data quality metrics, KPIs, and trends.
- Design and maintain Power BI governance dashboards.
- Implement automated data quality metrics and KPIs to support transparent reporting and measurement of governance program progress.
Collaboration, Enablement & Adoption
- Collaborate with and support data stewards across the enterprise on governance and data quality best practices.
- Conduct education sessions and working sessions with Data Stewards to align on governance standards, reporting, and expectations.
- Drive awareness and adoption of Technology Data Office standards and practices.
Risk, Issue & Delivery Support
- Assist in risk and issue management related to data governance and data quality.
- Align risk and control processes into day‑to‑day responsibilities, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Work closely with project managers and Scrum Masters to create and update project plans where governance activities are required.
- Partner within agile, cross‑functional delivery teams to ensure data governance requirements are clearly understood and incorporated into solutions.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in data governance, data quality, data stewardship, metadata management, or data management within an enterprise environment.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience supporting data governance and stewardship activities within a business or functional domain.
Talent Needed for Success
- Strong understanding of data governance concepts, including:
- Data Elements (DEs) and Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
- Metadata and data lineage
- Data quality rules, metrics, and exception management
- Ability to analyze datasets to identify data issues, inconsistencies, and risks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain data concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in ambiguity.
Tools, Frameworks & Methodologies
- DAMA‑DMBOK framework (conceptual understanding required; implementation experience a plus)
- Collibra (data catalog, governance workflows)
- Monte Carlo (data quality / observability)
- Power BI (governance dashboards and reporting)
- Experience working in Agile, cross‑functional delivery environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in regulated or risk‑sensitive environments.
- Background in data stewardship with progression into governance‑focused responsibilities.
- CDMP certification (preferred but not required).
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
