The Information Technology group delivers secure, reliable technology solutions that enable DTCC to be the trusted infrastructure of the global capital markets. The Impact you will have in this role:
The Development family is responsible for creating, designing, deploying, and supporting applications, programs, and software solutions. May include research, new development, prototyping, modification, reuse, re-engineering, maintenance, or any other activities related to software products used internally or externally on product platforms supported by the firm. The software development process requires in-depth subject matter expertise in existing and emerging development methodologies, tools, and programming languages. Software Developers work closely with business partners and / or external clients in defining requirements and implementing solutions. The Software Engineering role specializes in planning, documenting technical requirements, designing, developing, and testing all software systems and applications for the firm. Works closely with architects, product managers, project management, and end-users in the development and enhancement of existing software systems and applications, proposing and recommending solutions that solve complex business problems.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Snowflake Development
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts, views, stored procedures, and Snowflake database objects.
- Build and support data transformation and data processing workflows.
- Develop reusable components and frameworks to improve development efficiency.
- Assist in query tuning and performance optimization activities.
- Data Integration & Processing
- Develop and support ETL/ELT pipelines for loading and transforming data in Snowflake.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.
- Implement business rules and data transformation logic based on functional requirements.
- Perform source-to-target data mapping and validation.
- Application Enhancement & Maintenance
- Analyze and resolve defects in existing Snowflake solutions.
- Support production releases, application enhancements, and maintenance activities.
- Participate in troubleshooting data-related issues and implement fixes.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards and best practices.
- Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute unit test cases for new features and enhancements.
- Perform data validation and reconciliation activities.
- Support integration testing, user acceptance testing, and release validation.
- Collaborate with QA teams to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Production Support
- Monitor scheduled jobs and data processing workflows.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents within agreed SLAs.
- Participate in root cause analysis and preventive action implementation.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Product Owners, QA Engineers, and Senior Developers.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
Talents Needed for Success:
- Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Understanding of data warehousing principles.
- Basic knowledge of Snowflake architecture and development features.
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data transformation techniques.
- Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, or similar languages.
- Familiarity with Git/version control systems.
- Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Snowflake Streams, Tasks, Snowpark, or Snowpipe.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of Agile development practices.
