As an Automation Software Engineer, you will help the team create quality content while boosting developer efficiency. Our Optima engineers maintain a broad view of the development tools, CI/CD and automation systems and look for ways to improve our capabilities for our development team. We are looking for passionate engineers who enjoy prototyping and planning, collaborating with other engineers, and building DevOps, workflows, and capabilities that allow us to work smarter and more efficiently to bring substantial improvements to our game.
*Please note, this position will require a hybrid onsite presence in either Victoria BC Canada, or Orlando, FL*
Your Responsibilities
You will work with design and other engineers to provide feedback and then create clear and estimable technical designs.
You will work with other teams of multiple disciplines to maintain automated tests for the game
You will monitor and improve the automated test suite
You will participate and communicate ideas to the Automation team to improve existing automation strategies
You will develop automated tests as part of the CI/CD process
Measurably improve process and best practices to achieve targets across a small team of engineers.
Interpret requests from your QA and engineering partners, account for and call out any roadblocks or efficiencies your partners may not consider, and propose and apply your creative or technical solutions.
Your Qualifications
6+ years of professional development experience with OOP Languages, C++, C#.
Understanding of SDLC, STLC processes, and quality methodologies.
You have a solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, design patterns, test-driven development, CI/CD processes and data structures
Contributor to technical architecture and design documents for all sizes of features
Bachelor's degree in Computer, Software Engineering, Computer Science Degree or related concentration, equivalent and/or combination of education and work experience.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES
In British Columbia, we offer a package of benefits including vacation (3 weeks per year to start), 10 days per year of sick time, paid top-up to EI/QPIP benefits up to 100% of base salary when you welcome a new child (12 weeks for maternity, and 4 weeks for parental/adoption leave), extended health/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
