As a Product Manager focused on ArcGIS Online, you’ll be working with dynamic teams who are helping change, reinvent, and expand the way our customers think about geographic data and empower them to use GIS across their organizations and the world.

This is a fast-growth, high-impact product, foundational to Esri’s long-term strategy of enabling our customers and partners at the local, national, and global level. This role requires a highly driven, self-motivated individual who will work with people across Esri as well as with partners, international distributors, and customers around the world. You will champion the needs of our customers, assist our sales and services teams to position it, and contribute toward Esri’s most strategic initiatives.

A successful candidate will have experience leading Information Technology or Software Development project teams, strong product management expertise, an understanding of ArcGIS products and a growth mindset. You will help define the customer experience, set strategic priorities, manage and advocate for both internal and external change, from optimizing collaboration between Esri teams to owning the life cycle of complex and critical user-driven product enhancements, build and maintain relationships with end users, colleagues, Esri partners and distributors, and influence the product's development priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and prioritize feedback from end users and administrators to influence product direction and explore trends
  • Extract actionable requirements from user feedback; sustain advocacy for and awareness of user perspectives throughout strategy, product development, and roadmap discussions across teams, including technical leads, developers, software engineers, internal business system teams, and consultants
  • Build awareness across Esri’s global workforce on the many different system patterns ArcGIS Online supports and its relationship to ArcGIS Enterprise and the other foundational parts of ArcGIS
  • Assist sales teams with managing the customer’s product journey and assessment of total cost of ownership
  • Stay updated on cloud technology, ArcGIS trends, and enterprise-grade SaaS market expectations
  • Create content to help account managers, and distributors
  • Provide product expertise in customer interactions, represent ArcGIS Online at events, and ensure internal launch readiness across teams

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, technical project management, or related
  • Experience with SaaS and/or cloud-based software principles and design
  • Strong leadership skills, guiding teams through decision-making, achieving consensus, and balancing multiple perspectives
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to discuss technical concepts with product development teams while also being able to discuss and explain to executives and other non-technical personnel
  • Expertise in researching customer problems, translating them into product requirements, and driving prioritization
  • Proficient in system design, human-centered design, and creating technical documentation for complex solutions
  • Skilled in identifying market opportunities, communicating product value, and working cross-functionally with various teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to travel 10% - 20% of the time to customer sites, conferences, trade shows, and other strategic meetings and events
  • Bachelor's in information systems, geography or geographic information systems, computer science, or a STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Master's in Computer Science, business administration (MBA) or Marketing, or a related field
  • Professional experience as a contributor within a software development, technical consulting, training, or product support team
  • Professional experience with cloud and database technologies, particularly SQL and file storage services
  • Professional experience with developer technologies, such as JavaScript, Python or scripting
  • Certification in product management, project management, or change management from Pragmatic Institute, Project Management Institute, or equivalent

$114,400$187,200 USD
