Are you an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented software engineer who wants to build software, design compelling user interfaces, support critical workflows, and work with clients and partners to ensure success? Would you like to help build an amazing cloud-oriented platform and support the development of modern web, desktop, and mobile applications? Join us, and you'll be a key member of our software development team and help design the next generation product for the ArcGIS platform!
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze customer requests, industry standards, and specifications to establish and define requirements and translate them into new software design
- Coordinate with developers daily to:
- Maintain focused development goals
- Coordinate technical and design solutions on features and functions
- Document complete software functions into product matrix
- Develop public-facing samples and usage patterns of new functions
- Define and complete robust test workflows including the creation and maintenance of test harnesses
- Synthesize software functionality, features, and capacity into effective product documentation
- Assess product quality and release readiness
- Be a product liaison:
- Communicate goals and progress to various collaborating teams
- Coordinate with others on product story
- Field questions about product capabilities
- Presentations and demos
- Conference presentation preparation
Requirements
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and ability to propose solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including presentation skills
- Proven ability to deliver work in teams or individually
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Passion for software quality
- Strong desire to define new spatial technology for use by GIS practitioners and the general user community
- 2+ years of ArcGIS or other geospatial technology experience in mapping, geodata management, or geoprocessing projects
- Programming background with languages, such as C#, Java, and JavaScript
- Bachelor's in GIS, computer science, or related field
- Existing work authorization for China
Recommended Qualifications
- 2+ years of work experience as a software product engineer or position with similar responsibilities
- Commercial experience in the area of 3D, web, or mobile system development
- Proven ability to define, manage, and deliver geospatial solutions to users
- Master's in GIS, computer science, or related field
