Software Development Engineer II
Introduction to team:
Are you passionate about being part of an engineering team that delivers new world-class experiences of Agent capabilities to travelers and travel agents worldwide?
Expedia’s Traveler & Partner Service Platform(TPSP) is responsible for building products and processes that power the tools used by travel agents to serve Expedia Group customers. Within TPSP - omnichannel team is a group of dynamic engineers, that enables businesses to manage customer interactions across multiple channels like voice, chat, email and SRs. Its provides a unified platform to handle queries, resolve issues and engage with customers in seamless manner.
Traveler & Partner Service Platform(TPSP) - omnichannel team currently
Handle customer inquiries across various channels
Route and assign interactions to appropriate agents
Monitor and analyse performance metrics
Integrate CRM and other business systems
Future plans include revamping the existing platform to a new platform backed by Amazon-backed services to offer scalability, flexibility, agility and cost savings. As a Software Development Engineer II joining the team, your focus will be to build the products, frameworks, and agent tools that support this initiative.
In this role, you will:
Design and implement products and solutions that are highly scalable with high-quality, clean, maintainable, and well-documented code across the full technology stack
Work collaboratively with all members of the technical staff and other partners to build and ship outstanding software in a fast-paced environment
Find opportunities for process and technology improvements, and work towards adoption and implementation
Assist with supporting Production systems (includes investigating issues and working towards resolution)
Exercise creativity and provide alternative solutions to a given problem removing roadblocks and driving issues to closure
Create/update documentation for the purpose of sharing knowledge between team members
Actively participate in group technology reviews to critique the work of self and others
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor's or master’s in computer science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
2+ years of experience in the field of Software Engineering
Proficient with Object Oriented Programming concepts with a strong understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Computer Science fundamentals
Experience with Java/Python, ReactJS, Javascript and Spring MVC along with a good grasp of Oops design with strong design patterns knowledge.
Experience with cloud-computing platforms such as Amazon Web Services
Understanding of testing and monitoring tools
Ability to debug applications
Understanding how teams’ goals fit a business need
