Mobile Engineer II, iOS

As a Mobile Engineer II, iOS, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the traveller experience at one of the world's largest travel platforms. You will be part of the team responsible for Expedia’s mobile checkout experience—an area of strategic importance and massive scale (millions of users).

You’ll work on exciting new features that make the checkout experience seamless for users—adding new forms of payment, new capabilities, improving the current experience, monitoring and improving page performance, building alerting and monitoring for key metrics, and expanding the native checkout experience to support multiple lines of business and points of sale. You will help lead technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, and own the design and implementation of complex features. Beyond excellent engineering skills, you bring product thinking, a quality mindset, and a collaborative spirit.

In this role, you will:

  • End-to-End Ownership: Drive features from concept to delivery—gathering requirements, designing scalable solutions, developing, testing, and deploying production-ready code.
  • iOS Development Expertise: Build modular, scalable, and high-performance applications using Swift and SwiftUI.
  • Maintain High Standards: Write clean, testable, and maintainable code. Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to platform standards.
  • Collaborate Globally: Work closely with designers, backend engineers, QA, and product managers in a cross-functional team spread across the globe.
  • Innovation and Learning: Champion continuous improvement by staying up to date with new technologies and development practices. Mentor peers and share best practices.
  • Performance & Reliability: Build robust mobile experiences optimized for performance, responsiveness, and resilience.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Experienced iOS Developer: 1–4 years of hands-on experience building iOS applications. You’ve played a key role in at least one app that’s live on the App Store.
  • Skilled in Swift: Solid foundation in Swift, SwiftUI, and the iOS SDK. Familiar with Xcode and version control (Git).
  • Design-Centric Mindset: Comfortable working with Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines and translating UI/UX designs into clean implementations.
  • Quality-Focused: You prioritize clean architecture, testing, and maintainability. Familiar with unit testing and mobile debugging tools.
  • Collaborative Team Player: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Open to feedback and eager to contribute to a supportive team culture.
  • Curious and Adaptive: You enjoy learning, experimenting with new tools, and improving how things are done.
