The Technical Program Manager III role is part of the Air Platform Shopping team within our Technology division. This team is responsible for the backend platform of our Air/flight business. The Air Platform Shopping team enables flight search, pricing, and booking by integrating with systems like Amadeus for real-time availability and inventory. It manages backend orchestration across GDS, payment, and other systems. We also support pricing logic, allowing dynamic fare construction and personalization, thus providing a great experience for travelers. In this role, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical programs. The TPM will work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to drive process improvements, manage dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact initiatives.
In this role, you will:
Program Delivery Ownership: Lead end-to-end execution of technical programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and quality standards.
Workflow Optimization: Identify and assess bottlenecks in team processes to streamline and simplify workflows, enhancing operational efficiency.
Process Improvement Execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative ideas and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Data-Driven Impact Analysis: Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of process changes and support informed decision-making.
Team Empowerment & Culture Building: Foster a collaborative and open team environment where members feel confident to critique existing workflows and propose meaningful improvements.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between engineering, product, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and execution.
Risk & Dependency Management: Proactively identify risks, manage interdependencies, and drive resolution to keep programs on track.
Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear, concise, and timely updates to stakeholders at all levels, ensuring transparency and alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
Tooling & Reporting: Utilize program management tools to track progress, generate insights, and drive accountability across teams.
Experience & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or a related field is required. An MS or other related advanced degree is preferred.
Experience: 6+ years of experience in Technical Program Management.
Technical Program Management: Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional programs in a fast-paced environment.
Software Development Knowledge: Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), agile methodologies, and technical architecture.
Back-end System Knowledge: Experience working with APIs, backend systems, and third-party integrations (e.g., GDS like Amadeus, Sabre, etc.) would be a plus.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and execution skills with the ability to influence multi-functional teams and key decision-makers; drive results, deliver, and excel.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Tools: Experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $137,500.00 to $192,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $220,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
