EY Technology supports our technology needs through three business units:

Client Technology (CT) - focuses on developing new technology services for our clients. It enables EY to identify new technology-based opportunities faster and pursue those opportunities more rapidly.

Enterprise Workplace Technology (EWT) – EWT supports our Core Business Services functions and will deliver fit-for-purpose technology infrastructure at the cheapest possible cost for quality services. EWT will also support our internal technology needs by focusing on a better user experience.

Information Security (Info Sec) - Info Sec prevents, detects, responds and mitigates cyber-risk, protecting EY and client data, and our information management systems.

The opportunity

The Quality Assurance Engineer, Specialist role provides intermediate level systems quality assurance testing services and maintains new techniques and tools to improve the quality and efficiency of software development, while executing usability, regression, and stress tests, preparing test reports, and contributing feedback during design reviews to ensure application performance and user experience meet defined standards.

Your key responsibilities

  • Participates in the implementation and maintenance of test automation strategies, test design, and coding reviews to ensure quality. Translates functional requirements and technical specifications into test scripts for new development or enhancement projects.
  • Participates in the quality assurance testing process and follows up to assist in ensuring that all information system products and services meet company standards and end-user requirements.
  • Analyzes input and output of test data. Identifies discrepancies between requirements and expected results. Documents exceptions and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Develops and documents quality assurance standards. Recognizes and identifies areas where policies and procedures need to be changed or developed.
  • Collaborates across IT teams to execute manual End-to-End test cases and exploratory tests, following test case standards.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Executes usability tests to assess the user experience and performance of the application, ensuring the software is intuitive and meets accessibility and design standards.
  • Conducts regression testing and stress testing to verify application stability and responsiveness under various load conditions.
  • Prepares comprehensive test reports that document test outcomes, bugs, usability concerns, and recommendations, and shares findings with the development and design teams for corrective actions.
  • Participates in design reviews and provides feedback on user stories, interface elements, and product workflows to identify quality risks early in the development cycle.

  • Atlassian product knowledge (e.g., JIRA, Confluence)
  • Automation testing experience is a plus

Good to Have

  • General mobile and app knowledge
  • Application triaging (when an issue)
  • Understanding the code: Java, Angular, Node JS, Postman/Bruno, CUCUMBER, SQL queries

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in software quality assurance, with expertise in automation and manual testing.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in relevant fields such as Computer Science, IT, or Software Engineering, or a Master’s degree/Diploma in Computer Science.
  • Must have Agile, Confluence, JIRA, Monitoring and refining dashboards and must comply with Continuous process improvement for process flows/workflows.

Ideally, you’ll also have

  • Strong verbal and written communication, facilitation, relationship-building, presentation and negotiation skills.
  • Be highly flexible, adaptable, and creative.
  • Comfortable interacting with senior executives (within the firm and at the client)
