AI-Enabled Automation Developer – Senior Consultant
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable AI‑Enabled Automation Developer to design, build, and deploy intelligent automation solutions that will combine AI, RPA, workflow orchestration, and agentic automation to deliver tangible benefits and transformation for clients. This role requires hands‑on experience implementing AI‑infused automation solutions, integrating where relevant LLMs, cognitive services, and workflow tools to optimise end‑to‑end business processes across a diverse set of use cases across back-office functions and customer service in a variety of market sectors. The ideal candidate brings strong technical and consulting capability, translating ambiguous business requirements into high‑quality automated solutions.
Your Client Impact
- You will deliver tangible value and outcomes for your client by designing and delivering AI-enabled automation solutions as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- You will translate business requirements into robust, well‑governed automation designs, defining architectures, data flows and integration patterns that are scalable, secure, auditable and outcome‑driven. You will deliver AI‑enabled automation using RPA, and relevant and valuable; workflows, ML/LLMs, intelligent document processing, reasoning models and conversational agents. You will ensure solutions are thoroughly tested, monitored in production, and continuously improved to drive ongoing efficiency and quality gains.
- Your solutions will support to: reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, accelerate end‑to‑end process throughput, unlock greater autonomy, enable scalable operations, enhance data quality, speed up decision‑making, improve customer and colleague experiences, accelerate delivery, strengthen consistency, reduce cost‑to‑serve across programmes, support AI‑driven process re‑engineering, and help modernise operations to improve resilience.
- You will coach and mentor both EY and clientdevelopers and analysts - elevating delivery capability, improving solution quality, and strengthening long‑term client self‑sufficiency.
Qualifications
A degree in a technical, analytical, or related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Data, Automation) is beneficial but not essential. We value practical experience in automation delivery, process analysis, and low‑code solution design, combined with strong consulting and stakeholder‑facing skills.
Essential Criteria
- Solid experience of designing and delivering automation solutions using low code/no code tools (UiPath, Power Automate, PEGA, or similar).
- Sound knowledge of building automation components integrating with large language models (e.g. GPT, Claude, Llama, Mistral).
- Integrating cognitive capabilities such as OCR, NLP, classification, or entity extraction into process workflows where relevant.
- Ability to implement API‑based integrations, webhooks, and connectors as part of workflow automation.
- Ability to translate business requirements into automation features and technical design.
- Experience in supporting active participation in workshops capturing requirements, and designing process maps.
- Ability to break down complex problems into structured automation components.
- Experience participating in enterprise‑grade solutions aligned with governance, security, and quality standards.

- Ability to work independently and drive delivery under ambiguous and evolving requirements.
- Storytelling with insights, automation performance metrics, and process improvement outcomes.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills, including developing presentations to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams including architects, engineers, analysts, and SMEs.
Preferred Criteria
- Developing multi‑agent systems, reasoning agents, or orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, AutoGen).
- Building Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines and prompt engineering for robust automation.
- Designing automation pipelines on platforms such as Azure AI services, Azure Foundry, Azure OpenAI, Databricks, Snowflake, or Power Platform.
- Proficient programming skills using Python, C#, or JavaScript, alongside SQL for data manipulation.
- Designing end‑to‑end workflow automation solutions involving structured and unstructured data.
- Experience designing process maps using BPMN/UML.
- Applying AI techniques such as advanced NLP, computer vision, anomaly detection, or classification within automations.
- Experience applying automation in finance, operations, supply chain, HR, customer & commercial, or IT & shared services domains.
- Relevant certifications such as UiPath Developer Associate or Professional, UiPath Agentic Automation Associate, Power Platform Developer, Azure AI Engineer Associate, Automation Anywhere Advanced Developer, or equivalent.
- Experience in a consulting environment would be beneficial for this position
