Role Type Business Analyst – Process Excellence & Process Engineering –Assistant Director
The opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytically strong Business Analyst for a 3–6 month gig contractor role. This position requires deep expertise in process excellence, process engineering, and solution design. The contractor will support a cross-functional initiative to streamline the briefing workflow for five user groups, conduct a gap analysis of existing documentation, and contribute to the design of a standardized operating process along with an associated tech‑enabled solution.
Your key responsibilities
Process Analysis & Gap Assessment
- Conduct detailed gap analysis on all existing documents, workflows, and SOPs related to the briefing activities.
- Identify discrepancies, process risks, redundancies, and inconsistencies across the five stakeholder groups.
- Create a standardized, end-to-end process view that aligns with desired business outcomes and integrates best practices.
Process Engineering & Standardization
- Redesign and optimize workflows to simplify operations, reduce friction, and improve cycle times.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs), process maps, RACI matrices, and control mechanisms.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or process re-engineering principles to remove waste and enhance efficiency.
Solutioning & Technology Enablement
- Collaborate with solution consultants to define the solutioning approach, tech stack recommendations, and future-state architecture.
- Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements for technology teams.
- Support creation of solution flow diagrams, data flow maps, integration requirements, and user journey mapping.
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Work closely with business teams, tech teams, and user groups to understand needs and pain points.
- Run workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and walkthroughs with process owners.
- Ensure seamless coordination between the identified Business Analyst and solutioning consultant.
Documentation & Governance
- Prepare high-quality BRDs, FRDs, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and user stories.
- Support estimation, effort sizing, and traceability across project stages.
- Maintain strong governance on scope, change requests, and process adherence.
Skills and attributes for success
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong grounding in process engineering and process excellence.
- Proven experience in gap analysis, SOP development, workflow design, and business process mapping.
- Strong understanding of digital workflows, low-code/no-code solutions, and enterprise tech stacks.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, Azure DevOps / Jira.
- Expertise in Lean / Six Sigma, process diagnostics, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
To qualify for the role, you must have
- 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong grounding in process engineering and process excellence.
- Graduate – Bachelor’s degree – Any discipline
- Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal
- Experience setting up Project Governance frameworks
- Experience in creating and managing Project related artifacts e.g., Plans, RACI, Risk Register, Budget tracker etc
- Hands-on experience managing projects using Agile/Waterfall methodologies
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and structured thinking abilities
- Proven experience in building strong relationships at Senior management / Executive level
- Willingness to adjust responsibilities to align with developing business needs
- Proven track record of delivering results through cross-functional teams, in a highly matrixed environment.
- Flexible to Support various Global Time Zones
Ideal, if you’ll also have
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher
- BPM / Process Modelling certifications
- Agile BA certification (IIBA, ECBA, CCBA, CBAP)
Technologies and Tools
- Expert in MS Project / Planner/ Word / PowerPoint / Excel - working knowledge of MS office.
- Azure DevOps exposure (desirable)
