We are seeking an experienced Manager – Data Engineer to join our AI & Data team in Malaysia. This is a flexible full-time role, offering the opportunity to lead impactful engagements while developing your consulting and technical leadership capabilities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engagements with diverse stakeholders to identify and translate business challenges into scalable data and analytics solutions
  • Drive delivery excellence across projects, ensuring quality outcomes and alignment with client expectations
  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers and analysts, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including:
    • Strategy and roadmap development
    • Solution architecture design
    • Data engineering and implementation
    • Deployment and optimization
  • Act as a bridge between business and technical teams, communicating insights effectively to both audiences
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal development, client presentations, and solution positioning
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and contribute to innovation within the AI & Data practice

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL development, or data analytics within the data and analytics domain
  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more ETL/data integration tools such as:
    • Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Talend
    • Or open-source frameworks like Kafka, NiFi
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end project delivery, using Agile, SDLC, or hybrid methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in team leadership, coaching, and task delegation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Analytics, or related field

Ideally, You’ll Also Have

  • Prior consulting experience, preferably in a professional services environment
  • Experience leading client-facing engagements and managing multiple stakeholders
  • Solid background in:
    • Business Intelligence
    • Data Warehousing
    • Big Data platforms
    • Advanced Analytics solutions
  • Exposure to cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguous environments
