HR Business Analyst with Power Apps / Automate - Assistant Director - EY Global Delivery Services
Job Summary:
The Talent Innovation & Analytics (CATALYST) team is seeking an experienced business analyst / people analytics professional with strong data, technology, process transformation, and leadership capabilities to support strategic Talent initiatives across the United States. This role focuses on business analysis, analytics-focused reporting, process improvement, workflow automation, solution delivery, stakeholder consulting, and strategic advisory support to help Talent leaders make informed decisions and improve operational effectiveness.
The successful candidate will serve as a senior partner to Talent stakeholders to identify opportunities, gather and refine requirements, develop insights, guide change initiatives, and implement scalable solutions leveraging Microsoft technologies including Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot, and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
This position requires a combination of strong business acumen, project management, problem-solving, relationship management, people analytics, and technical capabilities. The role will collaborate closely with U.S.-based and international teams across multiple continents, time zones, and cultures to deliver innovative solutions that drive efficiency and business value.
Essential Functions of the Job:
The key function of this position is to:
- Consult with United States senior talent leadership and other stakeholders to understand business objectives, operational challenges, strategic priorities, and opportunities to create measurable business value.
- Lead discovery sessions, process reviews, and stakeholder discussions to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, reporting enhancements, and business transformation.
- Translate complex business needs into clear requirements, process documentation, business rules, user stories, solution designs, roadmaps, and project plans.
- Build and maintain trusted business relationships with key stakeholders (including the Talent Enablement Center and VTH), Talent Leaders, Strategic Talent Consultants, and internal Talent reporting & analytics/insights teams to keep on the pulse of what is important to leadership and build relevant analysis and interpretation.
- Independently lead and manage multiple complex projects and workstreams, ensuring successful delivery of agreed-upon outcomes, timelines, quality standards, and stakeholder expectations.
- Analyze and interpret complex Talent and workforce data to identify trends, business impacts, risks, and opportunities, while translating findings into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
- Create executive-ready reporting, dashboards, presentations, and visualizations that communicate insights in a clear, meaningful, and decision-oriented manner.
- Support and guide the design, development, testing, deployment, and adoption of automation and technology solutions utilizing Power Platform technologies, Copilot capabilities, AI-enabled tools, and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Generate innovative ideas and practical solutions that improve operational efficiency, user experience, reporting capabilities, service delivery, and stakeholder adoption.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, training materials, adoption plans, governance standards, and communication resources supporting new tools and processes.
- Lead and support recurring and ad hoc analytical requests that enable evidence-based Talent decisions, workforce planning, and organizational management.

- Demonstrate strong business acumen and an advanced understanding of Talent operations, people analytics, process improvement, HR strategy, and technology enablement.
- Partner proactively with stakeholders and senior leaders to identify business needs, shape priorities, and recommend practical, scalable solutions.
- Drive successful project execution through effective planning, prioritization, risk management, communication, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional coordination.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify trends, root causes, process inefficiencies, governance needs, and opportunities for improvement.
- Effectively lead multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining quality, meeting deadlines, and providing clear direction across workstreams.
- Collaborate effectively across geographically dispersed teams and virtual environments, including the ability to influence and coordinate across cultures and time zones.
- Demonstrate strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and data insights to non-technical audiences and senior leadership.
- Maintain awareness of emerging Microsoft technologies, automation capabilities, low-code/no-code solutions, AI-enabled tools, agentic AI concepts, and leading practices.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts that increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, strengthen data quality, and enhance the overall Talent experience.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook, with the ability to develop executive-ready deliverables.
- Advanced business analysis skills including requirements gathering, stakeholder interviews, process mapping, documentation, solution design, and roadmap development.
- Experience with project management methodologies, Agile ways of working, project planning, testing coordination, deployment activities, and change management.
- Strong people analytics capabilities, including data cleansing, data validation, trend analysis, reporting, dashboard development, insight generation, and data quality/governance practices.
- Experience designing executive-level dashboards, scorecards, presentations, and visualizations that support decision-making and workforce strategy.
- Knowledge of Talent and HR processes including workforce reporting, recruiting, performance management, learning, engagement, compensation, workforce planning, and related people processes preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, facilitation, and presentation skills, with experience engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities while guiding project teams or workstreams.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative global environment across multiple countries and time zones, including experience with distributed delivery models.
Other Technical Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate Online, Power Pages).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI-enabled productivity tools, agentic AI concepts, or similar technologies.
- Experience with HR technologies such as Workday, SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft, Taleo, or similar systems preferred.
- Experience with business intelligence, workflow automation, reporting, collaboration platforms, and data visualization tools.
- Knowledge of VBA, SharePoint development, Dataverse, SQL, Python, or other automation and reporting technologies is a plus.
Job Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems, Analytics, Data Management, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field required.
- Added advantage: Diploma in Data Analytics or Talent Analytics
Experience:
- 8-10+ years of professional experience in business analysis, people analytics / HR analytics, reporting, process improvement, project management, technology enablement, automation, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects from discovery through implementation and adoption, including coordination across stakeholders, technical teams, and end users.
- Experience working with global or distributed teams, supporting senior stakeholders, and leading project teams or workstreams is strongly preferred.
Certification Requirements: Preferred certifications include:
- Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900)
- Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
- Microsoft Copilot-related certifications or learning credentials
- PMP, Agile, Scrum, People Analytics, or other project management / analytics certifications
