About the Role
At EY GDS, you will lead the design and delivery of advanced analytics and AI solutions that transform supply chain operations for global clients. As a Manager, you will combine deep supply chain functional expertise with cutting-edge analytics — from descriptive dashboards to prescriptive optimization, generative AI, and agentic AI solutions — to deliver measurable operational impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution-architect, design, build, deploy, deliver, and monitor advanced analytics and AI models across supply chain planning and operations areas — demand, supply, inventory, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, aftermarket, and spares planning.
- Interface with EY GDS Business Consulting partners and clients to understand business/engineering problems, translate them into analytics problem statements, and deliver insights that drive action and operational improvement.
- Lead and mentor teams of data scientists and supply chain analysts; own delivery quality, timelines, and client satisfaction.
- Collaborate with EY internal teams (consulting, technology, sector teams) to support pursuits, proposals, and sales enablement.
- Provide innovation and thought leadership — build tools, accelerators, reusable assets, and new solution offerings in supply chain analytics.
Supply Chain Functional Expertise (strong experience in two or more)
- Demand planning — statistical/ML forecasting, demand sensing, NPI forecasting
- Inventory & supply planning — multi-echelon inventory optimization, safety stock, S&OP/IBP
- Logistics & network planning — network design/optimization, transportation planning, route optimization
- Manufacturing analytics — asset maintenance (predictive/prescriptive maintenance), quality analytics, production planning & scheduling, manufacturing operations/OEE analytics, etc.
- Procurement planning — spend analytics, supplier risk and performance analytics, sourcing optimization
- Warehousing — capacity, labor, and slotting analytics
- Aftermarket & spares planning — service parts forecasting, spares inventory optimization
Analytics & AI Skills
- Descriptive & Diagnostic — KPI frameworks, root-cause analytics, control towers, visualization
- Predictive — machine learning and deep learning for forecasting, anomaly detection, risk prediction
- Prescriptive — optimization (LP/MIP/heuristics), simulation (discrete-event, Monte Carlo), scenario planning
- Generative AI — LLM-based solutions, RAG, conversational analytics/insight assistants for supply chain
- Agentic AI — multi-agent workflows for autonomous planning, exception management, and decision support
Tools & Technology
- Programming & data: Python, PySpark, SQL, big data tools
- Visualization: Power BI, Tableau
- Cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, or GCP (ML services, data pipelines, MLOps)
- Good to have: planning platforms (Blue Yonder, o9, Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Anaplan); live data streaming and ingestion tools.
- Use of AI tools for coding, design, dashboarding, presentations, etc.
Experience & Education
- 7–9+ years of experience in industry/consulting, with at least 5+ years designing and delivering supply chain advanced analytics solutions; global client experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree (Industrial/Production Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or related) and a master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or Data Science preferred.
- Certifications in one or two of: Python, AI/ML, optimization, simulation, or a cloud platform (Azure/GCP/AWS) are an advantage.
What We Look For
- Industry exposure across CPG, Life Sciences/Pharma, Industrial, or Resources sectors (Oil & Gas, Mining, Metals, Utilities, Chemical) with the ability to connect domain problems to analytics solutions.
- Strong written and oral communication; comfort presenting to senior client stakeholders.
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset — someone who builds capability, not just delivers projects.
