As a Tech Lead, Software Development Engineering at Fiserv, you will spearhead the development and support of critical mainframe systems pivotal to our fintech operations. Working in a collaborative and innovative environment, your expertise will drive robust financial services solutions, meeting the dynamic needs of our clients and their customers while inspiring your team to achieve technical excellence. This role is an individual contributor role within our organization.
What you will do:
- Lead the development, testing, and maintenance of mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.
- Analyze requirements and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
- Design, code, unit test, and implement changes while providing ongoing support.
- Write and execute unit test scenarios to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Optimize application performance for efficient use of resources.
- Troubleshoot and debug code to resolve technical issues.
What you will need to have:
- 6+ years of experience in mainframe development with COBOL, JCL, VSAM, CICS, and DB2.
- 6+ years of experience in utilizing mainframe utilities for development and maintenance.
- 6+ years of experience in gathering and analyzing requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- 6+ years of experience in designing, coding, testing, and implementing mainframe applications.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
What would be great to have:
- 6+ years of experience in optimizing mainframe application performance.
- 6+ years of comprehensive understanding of all lifecycle components (code, test, deploy).
- Experience presenting designs and technical solutions to stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
- Certifications in mainframe technologies or related fields.
