Staff Quality EngineerWhat does a successful Staff Quality Engineer do at Fiserv?
Join a high-impact team dedicated to building and refining Clover’s most customer-facing features—Loyalty, Rewards, and Engagement—that directly influence user satisfaction and business success. As a QA Engineer, you’ll be a key force in ensuring the reliability, quality, and performance of these critical experiences by driving automation, expanding regression coverage, and reducing production issues. You’ll work alongside developers and product managers in a fast-paced, agile environment, helping deliver seamless releases that customers can trust and love.
What you will do:
- Partner with developers and product managers in Agile sprints to define acceptance criteria, write test cases, and ensure testing aligns with business goals and release timelines
- Build and maintain automated UI and API tests using tools like Cypress, Selenium, Playwright, or Karate—helping us ship faster and more confidently
- Integrate your automation work into CI/CD pipelines, enabling continuous testing and smoother deployments
- Dive deep into bugs by debugging test failures and production issues, using systematic analysis to uncover root causes and prevent recurrences
- Own test planning and execution across functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing, ensuring full coverage and minimal surprises
- Use your understanding of the user to advocate for edge cases, negative testing, and exploratory testing scenarios that reduce real-world failures
- Collaborate with QA peers to establish best practices in automation and quality standards across the team
- Play a key role in go/no-go decisions by sharing test outcomes, risks, and production readiness with stakeholders
What you will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience (including military service)
- 7+ years of experience in QA and/or software development with exposure to release cycles and version control workflows
- 3+ years of hands-on experience testing REST APIs using tools like Postman
- Proficiency in Java and scripting languages such as TypeScript or Python
- Strong understanding of QA automation methodologies and experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Skilled in writing SQL queries to validate data accuracy and test outcomes
- Familiarity with test case and defect management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ALM, or MTM
- Experience testing across the full application stack—front-end, service layer, and database
What would be great to have:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM
- Experience or exposure to release planning, deployment coordination, and post-release verification
