Senior Java Developer

What does a successful Senior Java Developer do at Fiserv?
As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the legacy code of our Bank Analyst application written in the Java Seam framework. You will work closely with our U.S. team to ensure seamless functionality and support our banking operations. Your expertise will help us manage significant challenges and propel our technology forward.


What you will do:

  • Develop and maintain web applications using Core Java, J2EE, JSP, and Spring, while working with web services, servlets, and application architecture & design.
  • Utilize SQL and PL\SQL for database queries and operations, and implement responsive UI technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Provide accurate estimates and scheduling for assignments, ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Conduct code reviews using tools such as Findbugs, SONAR Cube, CheckStyle, PMD, and AppScan.
  • Address architectural problems related to scalability, performance, reliability, usability, and security, while offering innovative technical suggestions and proposing solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders across the organization.


What you will need to have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Core Java, J2EE, JSP, Spring, Hibernate, and Junit.
  • 8+ years of experience in web application development and web services.
  • 8+ years of experience with SQL queries and PL\SQL.
  • 8+ years of experience in responsive UI technologies, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience.


What would be great to have:

  • 5+ years of experience with WebLogic and Apache webserver.
  • 4+ years of experience with code review automation tools such as Findbugs, SONAR Cube, CheckStyle, PMD, and AppScan.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and issue-resolution skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in the banking domain
