    Job Description:

  • About your role:

  • As a Systems Engineering - Sr Professional I, you will be a crucial member of the team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Fiserv's complex systems infrastructure. Your expertise will play a significant role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our systems, enabling seamless operations that support our clients' business needs. You will work as part of a collaborative team of professionals committed to excellence in systems engineering and innovation.

What you'll do:

  • 5+ years of experience in engineering, production support, and system administration roles.
  • Proven expertise as an Application Production Support Engineer in 24x7 high-availability environments, with hands-on experience in automation and configuration management tools.
  • Extensive administration experience across diverse technologies including Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, Azure, OpenShift, IBM WebSphere, Apache, JBoss/Wildfly, Tomcat, IBM HTTP Server, and Oracle WebLogic.
  • Proficient in scripting with Ansible, Shell, and Python for automating software builds and configuration management.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL, with hands-on experience in DB2 and Oracle databases; familiarity with MongoDB and Yugabyte is a plus.
  • Skilled in monitoring and observability using Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Solid understanding of network topologies and protocols such as DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, and SMTP.
  • Development experience in Java, including Struts, Spring Framework, and JavaScript technologies.

Experience you'll need to have:

  • Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, service models, and architectures.
  • Experienced in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience implementing microservices architectures and building automated, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure.
  • Proficient in modern DevOps tools and practices: CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven, Eclipse, JIRA, and Confluence.
  • Capable of analyzing load test results and recommending performance tuning strategies.
  • Strong OS-level expertise across Red Hat Linux, Windows, AIX, and SUSE Linux.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills, including analysis of Java thread dumps, system core dumps, and TCP dumps.
  • Proficient in IT Service Management (ITSM), with hands-on experience managing incident, problem, change, and release management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.

Middleware Administration:

  • Expertise in managing and configuring enterprise middleware platforms including:
    • IBM WebSphere Application Server
    • Liberty Profile
    • IBM HTTP Server
    • Apache HTTP Server
    • Wildfly/JBoss
    • Oracle WebLogic

Cloud Platforms:

  • Hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP)
  • Skilled in managing Azure Red Hat OpenShift (ARO) and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

Application Performance Monitoring (APM):

  • Proficient in monitoring and troubleshooting using:
    • Dynatrace
    • Splunk

Process & Service Management:

  • Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and practices
  • Familiar with incident, problem, and change management workflows
