About your role:
You will lead a delivery team responsible for building and operating the Implementation Hub platform at Fiserv, an omnichannel commerce orchestration solution that enables fast, developer-friendly integrations and unified APIs. You will drive delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement to reduce time-to-market and operational costs for merchant clients. The role focuses on reliability, incident reduction, and accelerating secure commerce experiences.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and develop a production development team focused on Implementation Hub, setting technical direction and maintaining high team engagement and performance.
  • Manage production incident response, including triage, root cause analysis, and driving fixes to closure within committed SLAs.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive operational strategy to improve production performance and reduce client-impacting defects.
  • Participate in code and data deep-dives with a hands-on approach to diagnose and remediate defects.
  • Drive process and tooling improvements to increase productivity, ensure high-quality fixes, and prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee production deployments and establish post-implementation validation cadence to ensure zero deployment impacts to live clients.
  • Partner with core architecture, infrastructure, business operations, and integrations teams to maintain application health and resolve client issues.
  • Analyze operational metrics and maintain an Operational Scorecard and KPIs to inform continuous improvement and forecasting.
  • Manage resource planning, capacity forecasting, and workload distribution for the team.
  • Responsibilities listed are not intended to be all-inclusive and may be modified as necessary.

Experience you’ll need to have:

  • 13+ years of experience in Java development, including performance tuning and JVM diagnostics.
  • 13+ years of experience designing and implementing microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and API orchestration.
  • 10+ years of experience with cloud platform operations and deployment (serverless computing and containerized packages).
  • 10+ years of experience in Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • 10+ years of experience in payments and high-volume transaction processing systems.
  • 8+ years of experience with relational databases and data integrations (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) and advanced SQL.
  • 8+ years of experience with CI/CD and developer tooling (Git, Maven, Gitlab), and collaboration tools (JIRA, Confluence).
  • 8+ years of equivalent combination of educational background, related experience, and/or military experience.
  • Higley experienced in Agile methodology.

Experience that would be great to have:

  • Experience with API management platforms, i.e. Apigee, and API gateway patterns.
  • Experience using security and code-quality scanning tools such as SonarQube, Fortify, and WebInspect.
  • Experience in integration and load testing tools such as Postman and JMeter.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring stacks (Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana) for production systems.
  • Proven stakeholder management and executive communication experience when resolving cross-functional production incidents.
