Role Introduction
As a Technical Business Analyst (TBA) for our Payment Gateway, you will play a critical role in enabling and supporting the integration and lifecycle of Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) such as PayPal, Wero, iDEAL, Vipps and others. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, DevOps, and QA teams within an Agile/Scrum environment to help shape and deliver new payment capabilities, ensuring high-quality functional requirements, documentation, and operational readiness.
Your responsibilities include driving requirement discovery, shaping epics and user stories, coordinating certification and integration flows with APM providers, and supporting the team with functional analysis throughout the delivery cycle. You will utilise modern tools such as Jira, Confluence, and AI-assisted requirement development to streamline documentation and improve requirement accuracy and completeness.
- Analyse and translate business needs into clear, actionable epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows for APM integrations.
- Collaborate closely with the Scrum Team to ensure consistent alignment across engineering, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders.
- Lead functional discovery for new Alternative Payment Methods, including understanding provider specifications, API documentation, reconciliation files, and certification requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive product and process documentation in Confluence, ensuring clarity, versioning, and traceability.
- Support backlog refinement, story mapping, sprint planning, and delivery readiness activities.
- Use AI-assisted tools to improve requirement quality, generate documentation drafts, and accelerate analysis workflows.
- Perform functional analysis of payment flows, including authorisation, capture, refund, reconciliation, and settlement.
- Support test planning, UAT, and production verification with the Scrum Team.
- Assist with defect triage and functional investigations across integrated systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of our Payment Gateway documentation, including standard operating procedures and functional runbooks similar to those maintained across Fiserv teams
What you will need to have
- BS/BA degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role in a payments, fintech, or e-commerce environment.
- Strong understanding of Alternative Payment Methods (APMs) and API-driven integrations.
- Proficiency with Jira and Confluence in an Agile/Scrum context.
- Experience writing high-quality functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process diagrams.
- Ability to analyse API requests/responses (REST/JSON) and interpret provider documentation.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams.
What would be great to have
- You have worked before in an agile development environment and you are familiar with the PI Planning process and to are able to understand how to align the development to deliver effective towards a PI and Release
- You have experience in working with a multi locational matrix organisation where technology teams and delivery is done across multiple teams and locations
