Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience with data structures/algorithms and software development in Python, Java, C++, or Go.
  • 5 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiar with Kubernetes networking and its underlying open-source components.
  • Ability to drive technical innovation.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable, robust systems and infrastructure.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality code through software development .
  • Excellent communication skills.

Google Cloud Networking provides planet-scale networking for a smart and connected world, seamlessly and securely connecting and serving any application, any user, anywhere.
The Kubernetes Networking team is responsible for the development and maintenance of Kubernetes' networking components and features. These are integral to platforms such as Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Enterprise Kubernetes Platform (EKP), Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) - Connected, and Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) - Air-Gapped.

In this role, you will work closely with the Kubernetes Networking team, playing a crucial role in enhancing the CI/CD processes for components adapted and utilized across multiple platforms. You will have strong technical leadership skills. You will have an understanding of system design and infrastructure, combined with direct software development experience. You will be familiar with Kubernetes networking and underlying open-source components (e.g., Cilium, eBPF), as you will be actively engaged with these technologies. You will collaborate with different teams and organizations to ensure the successful implementation of our solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $166,000-$244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and maintain product/system code, including participating in or leading design reviews.
  • Review code from other developers, providing feedback to ensure best practices, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Triage, debug, and resolve product/system issues by analyzing their sources and impact on operations and quality.
  • Develop and maintain frameworks and infrastructure for regression, load, and performance testing.
  • Build and implement continuous integration processes to streamline testing and evaluation.
