Minimum qualifications:

  • 20 years of experience in product management
  • 20 years of experience working within global, technical organizations with multiple product lines
  • Experience in enterprise product management or AI product management

Preferred qualifications:

  • Human Resources domain knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and grow a team of product managers and technical talent
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to represent and convert complex business or technical concepts with senior leadership
  • Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives in regulated, high visibility domains
  • Demonstrated success aligning organizations across multiple product lines and successfully influencing the overall direction of a product or company

About the job

The HR Engineering organization is seeking a Senior Director of Product Management to develop and lead an innovative, AI-Forward digital product strategy and vision for our people technology transformation that reshapes how we think about supporting our Googlers. This transformation is centered on creating seamless user experiences powered by AI and connected data to maximize business value and create unparalleled experiences for Googlers. This role will require cultivating a deep understanding of the needs of people operations stakeholders, leaders across Google and employees to develop and drive a cohesive and compelling digital product strategy, roadmap, and execution. You will also keep an ear-to-the-ground on industry trends in the HR technology and AI spaces to help influence Google’s AI-powered HR transformation. You'll lead a team of Product Managers and Business Systems Analysts, and will partner closely with People Operations business owners to bring the overarching people technology strategy to life.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $320,000-$445,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Define and convert a compelling cross-Google digital product vision and strategy for our people technology transformation, relentlessly focused on creating an AI-first Googler experience.
  • Act as the primary product advocate for HR engineering, translating complex business problems and intricate technology ecosystems into intuitive, high-impact product roadmaps.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a newly-formed, digital product management organization for people technology, fostering a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and relentless focus on user value.
  • Partner closely with Engineering and UX teams to deliver high-quality product experiences and solutions on time and at scale. Monitor product performance, adoption and satisfaction, and leverage insights to identify and implement product improvements.
  • Provide executive-level thought leadership on HR technology trends, emerging AI capabilities, and industry best practices, continually challenging the status quo and inspiring innovation at scale across Google.
