Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience working within the semiconductor, fabless, or high-tech manufacturing sector.
- Experience in conducting quantitative market research, financial modeling, and demand forecasting, specifically related to technology components (e.g., CPU/GPU/TPU cost structure, memory, display drivers).
- Experience in advanced data modeling (e.g., spreadsheets/Google Sheets, SQL) and translating datasets into financial insights.
Preferred qualifications:
- MBA or Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning or Supply Chain Planning systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker).
- Experience supporting a Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain team, including familiarity with large-scale contract negotiation support and competitive cost benchmarking methodologies.
- Knowledge of global semiconductor market trends, trade policies, and competitive chip roadmaps.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize highly technical and financial information into concise, strategic proposals for executive leadership.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
The Google Custom Silicon Operations team is responsible for all external manufacturing engagement and supplier management for the foundry and outsource manufacturing partners for building custom silicon for Google products.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the foundry and OSAT landscape, tracking capacity, pricing trends, and technology roadmaps of key partners. Analyze supply chain risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to our operations and sourcing teams.
- Track the broader ecosystem, including EDA, IP, and substrate suppliers, to anticipate shifts that could impact our business.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive profiles of key suppliers, tracking their product announcements, strategic investments, financial performance, and marketing messages, as well as benchmark pricing and costs.
- Analyze competitor earnings calls, press releases, and industry reports to distill strategic insights and provide regular briefings to sourcing and leadership.
- Lead competitive analysis for the team by developing and maintaining sophisticated pricing and cost models, also owning forecasting and modeling.
