Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in using SQL to gather and transform data, with an ability to learn new technical skills for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in financial modeling, with an ability to structure problems, make reasonable assumptions, and analyze datasets to find insights.
  • Familiarity with financial systems and tools such as Buying Hub, SAP, and Herald.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work on clearly defined tasks, escalating complex issues to executive team members when needed.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teammates and business partners.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Core builds the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products, from Search to Android. Our team, Core Finance, advises the Engineering leaders who make it all happen. We help them make the best tech investment decisions, and we're looking for a new partner to join us. The team's mission is to make Google work better for everyone, and at scale.

In this role, you will partner directly with seven engineering teams to help them make decisions.

The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000-$132,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain financial models to track and forecast spending for agreements and projects.
  • Present compelling financial insights, translating data into clear narratives.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects by identifying and implementing opportunities for optimization.
  • Partner closely with Procurement and vendor management pffice (VMO) to optimize resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Central Financial Operations and Business Operations to ensure financial compliance.
