Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field.
- 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.
- Experience in data centers or a related industry.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience identifying and driving cost savings.
- Experience with partnerships and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Ability to self-start and self-direct in an unstructured environment, and comfortable with ambiguity.
- Excellent financial acumen and experience influencing through disciplined use of data.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with business judgment.
- Excellent leadership, teamwork, and people skills.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture issues.As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide executive level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.
As a part of the DC Build Finance team, you will partner with Data Center Delivery and Engineering (DCDE) business teams to deliver data center builds at the lowest possible cost. You will align to regional leaders to enable partnership with the business while maintaining a global perspective.The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.
Responsibilities
- Drive cost and operational excellence through technical expertise, data analysis, and business partnership to deliver financial analysis, modeling and insights that evaluate the NPV, TCO, ROI of new technology and new data center-related investment opportunities, and make recommendations to leadership.
- Lead preparation and review of data center investments spanning multi billion in spend, prepare deliverables, recommendations, and presentations for VP and above level reviews.
- Manage initiatives spanning multiple organizations including but not limited to Technical Infrastructure (TI) business partners, accounting, corporate finance, product finance, internal audit, systems, and engineering teams.
- Implement and maintain financial controls, actively drive performance against key metrics alongside business partners, and guide the development, automation, and consolidation of financial tools to scale the finance team and enable agility for the business.
- Build community for the Data Centers Build Finance team.
